The Christmas Secret - Barbara W. Urquhart
Dedication
I would like to dedicate The Christmas Secret to my mother, Dorothy; my daughter, Candice, my granddaughters, Layla and Makenzie.
I would also like to dedicate The Christmas Secret to my husband, Willie (8/31/1944-12/9/2010). My husband, my love, my best friend: patiently I wait until we are together again.
Prologue
The author of this book has referred to Jesus Christ by his birth name Yeshua. Why? Because that is who he is, a Hebrew Jew. Some seem to think there are blessings when one uses the name Yeshua. All Christians, regardless of their ethnicity or race should know the proper name for our Lord and Savior. The Black race should know the proper name of our Lord and Savior because we are descendants of ancient Hebrew Jews; but throughout history Yeshua our Lord and Savior has been whitewashed. Christians should not feel ashamed, turned off or reluctant to use the name Yeshua. This Lord and Savior is the same Savior you have loved and trusted all your life. Using the name Yeshua does not take anything away from you. It does not make you less valued or important. This Lord and Savior loves you unconditionally. He always has and He always will.

Preface
One of the main characters in The Christmas Secret Story is Dot McGuire, and she has a secret. Dot’s secret is she wants to keep the holy birth of Yeshua separate from Santa Claus and the commercial buying at Christmas.
Piney Forest has always celebrated Yeshua and Santa Claus at the same time, for hundreds of years, and they are not so willing to change their traditions. So, this news, of course, sends the town into a frenzy.
As you will see, Dot has her work cut out for her. She must convince Piney Forest that it is time for a change. Dot tries to encourage the town to give full honor and due respect to the birth of Yeshua on His special day by not allowing anyone or anything to interfere with His birthday, while on a different time and date, celebrating Santa Claus for all to enjoy.
PART ONE
The author would like to acknowledge why there are no cartoon illustrations in the Christmas Secret Children's story. The Christmas Secret Children's story is not just for children but a story that benefits all ages both young and old. It is a strong story with a powerful message. This beautiful story separates the holy birth of Yeshua from the Christmas Santa Claus. One would only have to use their imagination to create their own character images.
Introduction
The little squirrels in The Christmas Secret describes how the name of Yeshua and His holy birth are used for gain. At Christmas, people will spend out of control and their very last dime, on stuff they do not need and cannot afford, thinking they are getting a bargain because it’s Christmas and everything is on sale. What they are really getting is debt.
If you really think about it, this is selling the name of Yeshua without knowing it. Only the name of Yeshua and His holy birth pulls in money like no other holiday. In honor of Yeshua’s holy birth, people shop out of control and the merchants love it. What would Yeshua think about this kind of spending? If we recall, Yeshua has already warned us about using holy places and in His case, His holy name, to make money. Did we forget how angry Yeshua was when He discovered merchants selling their goods in the Father’s holy temple to make money? What is the difference between using the Father’s holy temple and using the precious name of Yeshua to make money? Sometimes we treat Yeshua like He is for sale. When we put a price tag on His holy name, we know we could make lots of money, or gain something.
There are other ways that people use the name of Yeshua for greed. Some examples of greed are religious cults who sell false dreams of heaven on earth for your life savings; and then there are so-called prophets who promise miracles for your dollars; and let us not forget pastors whose main agenda is making themselves wealthy in Yeshua’s name as they preach feel-good sermons, but are teaching absolutely nothing. Whatever Yeshua has for us is free; He would never sell us anything.
The Christmas Secret encourages the world to put Yeshua back in Christmas and keep His birth holy, sacred, and separate from Santa Claus and the hustling and bustling and shopping madness during the Christmas season; and not allowing anyone or anything to upstage Yeshua and capitalize from His holy name.

the Christmas secret Children's story
Once upon a time, hidden deep in the forest, existed a beautiful little village. It was there for hundreds of years and no one knew it was there except the residents who lived there. Everyone knew their neighbors, and everyone got along.
This little village is Piney Forest, USA. The residents of Piney Forest are squirrels and they live in tree houses.
Right now, it’s the Christmas season in Piney Forest. Houses are decorated and lit up with bright and pretty Christmas colors. Christmas sales are going on everywhere. Squirrels are caroling while other squirrels ice skate. There are last minute shoppers all bundled up and carrying loads of Christmas packages through gently cascading snowflakes, and the aroma of fruitcakes and yeast rolls from nearby bakeries fills the air.
Christmas in Piney Forest is the season for fruitcakes and yeast rolls, everybody’s favorite holiday treat.
It is also the season that kicks off the Winter Harvest Hunt. The Winter Harvest Hunt has been a tradition in Piney Forest for hundreds of years.
Before the hunt begins, Piney Forest has a big celebration for all the villagers. Squirrels from all around come and bring their favorite foods made from the candied fruits and nuts gathered during last year’s harvest. The little squirrels of Piney Forest eat the candied fruits and nuts every day in some form or another.
Just about this time of year, their candied fruits and nuts are almost gone, and it is time for all the squirrels in Piney Forest to gather their favorite candied fruits and nuts from special trees that only bloom during Christmas, for a very short period of time.
If the candied fruits and nuts are not quickly gathered, the candied fruits and nuts disappear in the twinkling of an eye. So far in the history of Piney Forest, this has never happened.
Fruitcakes, yeast rolls and the Winter Harvest Hunt are essential to the residents of Piney Forest. Every squirrel looks forward to them because candied fruits, yeast rolls, fruitcakes and nuts of course, are the squirrels’ main source of food.

Home With The McGuires
It is four days before Christmas and it is a beautiful chilly day in Piney Forest, just like most days in Piney Forest. Our story opens with the McGuire family at the kitchen table having breakfast. There is Dot, the mother, and Otis, the father. They have two children, a little girl named Poo Pea, who is never without her pacifier, and a son named Winston. They also have a Calico cat named Misty Sophia Alexandria Blue.
Otis’s parents, Pa Skeeter and Ma Birdie, visit Otis and his family every Christmas. Pa Skeeter especially looked forward to these visits because it was the season for the Winter Harvest Hunt. Shortly, Otis will pick his parents up from the train station. Christmas is not Christmas at the McGuire’s house without Pa Skeeter and Ma Birdie.

Dot Shocks the Family
Dot greeted the family this morning with a smile on her face and a gleam in her eyes, announcing to them that she wanted to celebrate Christmas differently this year. At hearing this alarming news, Otis asked Dot in total disbelief, What do you mean celebrate Christmas differently this year? Just the thought of it makes me cringe. Dear, did you fall out the tree on your head?
That’s not funny, Otis,
said Dot.
I’m not laughing,
said Otis. Kids are you all laughing?
No Pa,
said Winston.
I’m not laughing, Pa,
said Poo Pea.
Well don’t worry about it, sweetheart,
said Otis. I still love you, no matter how ridiculous you sound.
Hey, kids, let’s roll,
said Otis. It’s time to pick your grandparents up from the train station. Poo Pee, if you are coming, don’t bring that cat,
said Otis.
All right, Pa,
said Poo Pea.
Kids, go ahead and get in the car,
Otis ordered. We don’t want to be late. You know how fussy your grandparents are. The harvest celebration is tonight. If Pa is late, we’ll never hear the end of it.
Otis cautioned Dot, Remember, sweetie, put lots of candied fruits and nuts in the yeast rolls and fruitcakes; you know how particular Ma is about yeast rolls and fruitcakes.
You mean how peculiar she is,
Dot murmured.

The Car Ride to
the Train Station
Poo Pea snuck the cat into the car, disobeying Otis. She hid her in the back seat and ordered her to stay put and to be quiet. A few seconds later, Otis and Winston entered the car.
As the car headed for the train station, Poo Pea got Otis’s attention.
Pa, why does Ma want to celebrate Christmas differently this year?
Poo Pea asked.
Poo Pea’s question was so annoying to Otis that it caused him to slam on his brakes, almost losing control of the car. The cat was thrown to the front of the car, landing around Otis’s shoulders.
What is the cat doing in this car?
Otis yelled.
Winston, grab that cat,
Otis ordered, "and give her to your
