    Dedication

    To my heavenly Father,

    my Lord, my Savior, and my King;

    All glory, honor, and praise!

All I am, all I have, and all I will ever become

    are because of

Your unfailing love, the abundace of Your grace,

    and Your gift of righteousness.

    To my parents, Lyle & Suanne Scharles;

    your steadfastness, encouragement, and support

of God’s call on my life are priceless and irreplaceable.

I am forever thankful & honored to be your daughter.

    To my daughter, Saylor;

you are truly a gift of joy and a blessing from God.

My love for you gave me strength beyond measure

    when I needed it most.

    To the Spain’s, the Hanna’s, the VanBriesen’s,

    the Bart’s & the Thorpe’s;

you embraced my daughter and me as a

part of your families in our time of greatest loss.

I treasure the gift of knowing you and

can never thank you all enough.

    And to my late husband, Michael McDermott;

you were truly a watchman on the wall to many,

    including me.

You came along side me and spoke prophetically into

my spirit calling out the deep things that the Father

had for me to walk in and impart to others.

My prayer for all who read this book:

"God of our Lord Jesus the Anointed, Father of Glory: I call out to You on behalf of Your people. Give them minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so they will truly know You. Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance. Let them see the full extent of Your power that is at work in those of us who believe, and may it be done according to Your might and power.

Friends, it is this same might and resurrection power that He used in the Anointed One to raise Him from the dead and to position Him at His right hand in heaven. There is nothing over Him. He’s above all rule, authority, power, and dominion; over every name

invoked, over every title bestowed in this age and the next. God has placed all things beneath His feet and anointed Him as the head over all things for His church. This church is His body, the fullness of the One who fills all in all."

    Ephesians 1:17-23 (VOICE)

"And they sang a new song with

    these words:

"You are worthy to take the scroll

and break its seals and open it.

For You were slaughtered, and Your

blood has ransomed people for God

from every tribe and language and

    people and nation.

And You have caused them to become

a Kingdom of priests for our God.

And they will reign on the earth.

    Revelation 5:9-10

    Introduction

    In Christ.....

    Extravagant Exchange

I want to begin this book by opening up to a scene in the bible from the book of Mark. To me it is one of the most intimate stories that our Lord shares with us. It is a living testimony of the touch of His grace, His mercy, and His unsurpassed love to humanity. It is the manifestation of one heart touched by the power of God’s glory and the return of love for Jesus’ great exchange of His righteous

    -ness for all sin.

"Now Jesus was in Bethany, in the home of Simon, a man Jesus had healed of leprosy. And as he was reclining at the table, a woman came into the house, holding an alabaster flask. It was filled with the highest quality of fragrant and expensive oil. She walked right up to Jesus, and with a gesture of extreme devotion, she broke the flask and poured out the precious oil over his head. But some were highly indignant when they saw this, and they complained to one another, saying, "What a total waste! It could have been sold for a great sum, and the money could have benefited

the poor. So they scolded her harshly.

    Mark 14:3-5 (TPT)

The flask this woman brought to the Lord was filled with the highest quality of fragrant and expensive oil. It was an amount of oil that the bible tells us would have cost her a year’s wages - wages that Christian scholars believe were most likely earned in the degrading profession of prostitution. All the men knew of her; a sinner, and the lifestyle she practiced - probably the only way she had to provide for herself due to the circumstances that life had dealt her. Yet the power of Christ’s love for her - a power that had the ability to cleanse her from all the disgrace and

all the shame - enabled her to walk past the scorn of those that judged , condemned, and looked down upon her

to even be worthy of walking into their presence.

The flask she carried was the greatest expression of love she could give to someone who had given her so much. A love for her Savior that could not be contained, so the release of its contents had to be broken and poured lavishly upon her King; her worship being so great for Jesus that its fragrance filled the room. As she let down her hair and cleansed His feet with tears, all the years of shame she endured were washed away, along with the world’s dust from His feet. How beautiful, how pure was her praise

for the Savior of the earth!

Her act of reverence, worship, and love for the Son of God was so extravagant that it put all those who had contempt for her actions to shame and disgrace. Not even the owner of the home had treated Jesus with the respect or honor that He deserved. He never offered Him water to wash His feet or even greeted Him with a holy kiss as was the Jewish custom of this time. Not knowing how to redeem their actions, they were indignant, scolding her, and complained of what she had done. But her act of worship could not be undone by

    their condemnation.

Jesus said to them, Leave her alone! Why are you so critical of this woman? She has honored me with this beautiful act of kindness. For you will always have the poor, whom you can help whenever you want, but you will not always have me. When she poured the fragrant oil over me, she was preparing my body in advance of my burial. She has done all that she could to honor me. I promise you that as this wonderful gospel spreads all over the world, the story of her lavish devotion to me will be

mentioned in memory of her." Mark 14:6-9 (TPT)

This woman and her lavish act of devotion, worship, and honor is one of the best examples of the great exchange

our Lord was sent into the world to give. Christ’s gift of righteousness picked her up out of sin’s grip. His mercy reached past the dirt of this world, and the prison of her lifestyle. The unstoppable power of grace broke her free, cleansing all shame and making her a daughter of the Most High God! And once she had received the precious gift of salvation - she was given the position of sonship

    through Christ!

"He entered into the very world he created,

    yet the world was unaware.

He came to the very people he created—

to those who should have recognized him,

but they did not receive him.

But those who embraced him and

    took hold of his name

    were given authority to become

the children of God!" John 1:10-12 (TPT)

This woman’s act of extravagant worship is an example of someone who had truly taken hold of the great exchange our heavenly Father has given us through the sacrifice of His Son. She was a woman who understood the glory, the power, and the rights we posses as children of God, citizens of Heaven, and co-heirs with Christ of the

    very Kingdom of God!

This is where I want to take you as you read the pages of this book. This is the realization that I pray captures your heart, as the Holy Spirit deepens your understanding through

the words I have written and the scriptures I share.

Join me in this journey of an amazing Kingdom life that our human intellect can only grasp through the help and revealing of the gift of God’s Spirit within. If you desire to experience all you were created for and all you were destined to accomplish - the divine call that the Father purposed you for - then read on as I share my life’s pur-

uit -to access the Keys to God’s Kingdom, and restore

    Heaven’s glory to earth!

    Laurie Scharles McDermott

"May Your holy nation come. What You want done, may it be done on earth as it is in heaven."

    Matthew 6:10 (NLV)

    In Christ.....

    Captured

capture: to emphasize, represent, or preserve in a more or less permanent form (Merriam Webster)

For you know the saying, We live in God; we move in God; we exist in God. And still another said, We are indeed God’s children." Acts 17:28 (VOICE)

When we give our lives to Christ, we are surrendering our broken flesh for new life; His resurrection life. In exchange for the limitaions of humanity, we receive a supernatural nature that is born of the Spirit; born of God.

Now "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me."

    (Galations 2:20)

In essence, once we have received Jesus as Lord we too have been crucified. We have died to self , to this world, and to the power of the enemy; and our life, our body,

and our soul have been "Captured in Christ"!

We are now a new creation in Christ, and it is in Christ that we discover true life and our true identity. We are now preserved in this permanent form; the perma

    nent form of Christ.

"All who seek to live apart from me will lose it all. But t

those who let go of their lives for my sake and surrender it all to me will discover true life!" (Matthew 10:39)

There is no greater existence than to abide in the King of Glory! It is what we were created for! So to abide in Christ is the purposed destination for a child of God. It is where we find abundant life, fulfillment, power, and our

    God ordained destiny!

"Instead He emptied himself of His outward glory by reducing himself to the form of a lowly servant. He became

    human!" Phillipians 2:7 (TPT)

Before Christ came to earth, He left the glory that clothed Him in order to become the Son of Man and fulfill the Father’s

plan of salvation for the world.

But, wrapped in the flesh of Mary’s newborn Son dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead; the Father, the Word, and the

    Holy Spirit.

"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of

all principality and power." Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV)

Jesus came to earth as a man, but He also came as the dwelling place, the tabernacle, or the house of God. All the fullness of the Kingdom of God; all the glory of Heaven was still abiding in our Lord as He walked the earth! Jesus was the dwelling place of God’s presence. He was

    His Father’s house!

"Because in Him doth tabernacle all the fulness of the

    Godhead bodily." Colossians 2:l9 (YLT)

As the time drew near for our Lord to be crucified, He made this statement to His disciples:

"My Father’s house has many dwelling places. If it were otherwise, I would tell you plainly, because I go to prepare a place for you to rest. And when everything is ready, I will come back and take you to myself so that you
