Coyote’s Christmas Tale

Many years ago, when the animals could still talk, there lived a mischievous coyote. Back then, he was all brown. This is one of the stories about him.

It was a cool, sunny day here in Navajoland. The first snow had just covered the ground. Indian summer was long gone, and winter had arrived. December, the month the Navajo call the Big Wind, was here. Coyote was hungry and a bit frustrated. It seemed to him that he had less and less room to frolic around these
