Dr. Abdul K. Sesay is a highly anointed preacher, teacher, author and international speaker of the word of God, whom God has raised, to liberate his people from bondage through the inspirational teaching of the Good news of Jesus Christ. Dr. Abdul K. Sesay was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa, to predominant Muslim parents and grew up as a Muslim. Dr. Abdul K Sesay graduated with both the degrees of Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Liberty University. Dr. Sesay also graduated with a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology from Washington Adventist University and he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Mental Health Counseling. Dr. Abdul is serving as a pastor, teacher and prophet of the Word of God since the foundation of Kings & Priests Court Int'l Ministries Inc. with the vision Gather My People. One of his major goals is to be a father to the fatherless, and this has given him a craving for helping and caring for orphans. Dr. Abdul lives in Silver Spring, Maryland. The author of this book, Destined to Succeed, Reverend Dr. Abdul K. Sesay, has been my Pastor for 14 years. As the Administrator of the Church founded by Pastor Sesay, the Kings and Priests Church International (KPCI) ministries, I have watched Pastor Abdul grow as an anointed man of God and helped teach and develop many of his followers to believe and spread the good news of the Kingdom of God. Pastor Sesay is not only a great preacher of the Word of God, but an inspiring teacher of life’s lessons, a passionate and committed man of God who cares for people and desires to transform lives and win souls for Jesus Christ our Lord. It is from this perspective that Pastor Seasy decided to write Destined to succeed. The inspiration for this book was derived from a sermon Pastor Seay preached to his congregation. It was such a firing sermon, laden with cogent examples from the Pastor’s own personal life that gripped the congregation with outpouring emotions. We could see that even the Pastor was touched by his own preaching, and was totally transformed by his recollection of the painful moments in his life when the road to success seemed so rocky and efforts towards success seemed daunting or impossible. How the Pastor persevered and overcame those huddles, standing on the promise of the Word of God, is the central theme of Destined to Succeed.

Practically this book teaches the labor and harvest of mankind, and how the reward of our labor is tied to the biblical concept of predestination. Christians believe that everything that happens to man in this world was predestined from conception. Pastor Abdul expands on the concept of predestination by teaching that since man was made in God’s own image, and God is not a failure, then it is man’s destiny to succeed if only man works in the ways of the Lord. I personally believe that Rev. Dr. Sesay fits the profile to write this book because of his background and his testimonies. He is himself a practical example of the focused Pastor who has followed and applied biblical rules and principles to achieve success. In this acclaimed book Pastor Sesay ventures to challenge believers to work hard, follow the principles espoused in the scriptures and put their faith in God and not in themselves. Pastor Sesay strongly believes that following these principles will no doubt lead to success that would enrich the lives of Christians.

Destined to Succeed opens our eyes to see that God is not an illusion conjured by an eloquent preacher, but the one Whom, if we believe in Him, and follow the principles as written in the Bible, we will surely succeed. Pastor Sesay epitomizes this hope and dream because he started his church from extremely humble beginnings. And today, Pastor Sesay and his followers broke ground and built their own church from foundation to completion right here in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland, United States of America. This is a success that I believe came by way of predestination and working in the principles of God, if you follow the personal life of Pastor Sesay. In fact, according to popular opinion, Pastor Sesay is probably the only pastor here in Maryland, from his native Sierra Leone, who has built his own church here in the state of Maryland in recent years. I mean the pastor who break ground, laid the foundation and build until completion, with the help of his congregation. That man of God is Pastor Sesay, and I am proud of what we all achieved together as a church. This is an extraordinary achievement by Pastor Sesay and may God continue to bless him.

The book speaks of COURAGE: It takes courage to operate in the realm of success. In most cases, the path to success may not be smooth. There are challenges that one may encounter on the pathway to success. Such challenges may lead to a detour if the service of courage is not deployed. Courage is the screw that helps to hold the component together during adverse conditions".

Rev. Dr. Sesay quoted: Joshua 1:6-7 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them........"

Pastor Sesay said This statement and quotation from the bible has kept me strong in the weak days and given me hope when all is lost. I particularly like this quote because it tells us that Destined to Succeed does not mean we are not going to meet road blocks

Truly we have roadblocks in life but that is just a detour. It means a lot to me to write this foreword because I see firsthand how Rev. Dr. Sesay strives towards success at all cost. Every day I work with him either in the office or when he is preaching, I hear him talk about success and how to attain it.

Readers, I trust that after reading this book, you will understand that failure is not your portion if you work in the ways of the Lord. . Rev. Dr. Sesay’s own life story is indeed a pillar of strength. He came to America with a small suitcase and a vision to Gather God’s People, to teach them the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. And today, to God be the glory, he is the shepherd of a fourteen thousand square feet building that has both a sanctuary that seats 450 people and a fellowship hall and runs a Christian school. This church is the place for worship for a multicultural congregation that is thirsty for more of the Word every Sunday. To say that Dr. Sesay is qualified to write a book on success is an understatement. As readers will discover for themselves, Pastor Sesay’s own life story is a testimony to the fact that he is an authority on the subject of success.

Appreciation

With a humble heart, I like to acknowledge Apostle Mama Dora Dumbuya for the foundation she laid in my life. As the scripture states, "if the foundation be destroyed what can the righteous do?" Mama laid a solid foundation in my life that can allow me to build and continue to add apartments to the building because the foundation is solid enough to accommodate the structure. This book Destined to Succeed is anchored on a solid foundation. I am grateful to Mama and the entire leadership of Jesus Is Lord Ministries Inc. Tower Hill, Freetown, for helping me to discover my God given potential. Beyond her spiritual discovery of my God given talent Mama erected and supported a solid foundation in my life and ministry. I am thankful that my foundation was not destroyed, all because I had Mama’s guidance and support for our church that helped to align me with my destiny.
