God gave us his son, a human model of himself, so that we could have firsthand experience and knowledge of his character and bear witness to what a strong moral character could achieve. Jesus Christ experienced extreme challenges and temptations of earthly living, and yet he resisted and overcame them so that he could live the Truth of his mission. As a result of his determination to live his Truth, he fulfilled his mission and became the greatest leader the world has ever seen. He succeeded against extraordinary odds, started a movement that has lasted almost two thousand years, and begot two billion followers.
