Pumpington Park
My Dearest Heather,
How much time has passed since our first meeting last summer, and how I do miss the society with which we were so lucky to be acquainted with. Pumpington Park is ever so dull at this time of the year, and even more so since the departing of dear mama.
Papa is in low spirits and has been out of society for some time now. It grieves me to think of him here alone, yet my heart wills me to leave this summer. My spirits are not as high as you can imagine and many a night I sit at the pianoforte and play for papa. It is wretched that he relies on my presence, yet how at this time could I possibly refuse it.
How I miss the intercourse with a certain gentleman. You of course, my dearest, will understand me on this point and I shall say no more. Society here is rare and lacks the vibrancy that summer brings it.
I wait in anticipation of your letters, so full of news they always are.
Your devoted friend etc.
Isabella Pumpington
Reumaton Park

Your dearest mother had a strong constitution, and because of that she survived the fall from the White Cliffs of Dover, and carried on living for a few months more. Your devotion to feed the invalid has been greatly talked about here at Reumaton and Lady Felicity Ferocity, who was visiting us just last week, said that she will let the whole society of Bath know of your good heart.
Now, I expect this will be great news for you, since the certain gentleman on whom your thoughts are set has just arrived in Bath. I have received secure knowledge from Mrs Sluttlike that Mr Pea has gone to Bath and will spend the greatest part of his summer there. Therefore I entreat you Isabella, to find a way of bringing your graces to Bath as soon as convenient. If you are able to plan such a journey, then write to me hastily. On my part I would very much like to enjoy the summer society of Bath with you.
Our uncle Phil Wuss will be travelling to Prudence next week and will be passing Pumpington Park to call on you and your father, to express his deepest sympathy for the departure of Mrs Pumpington. Naturally before reaching you he will have passed through Bath, and I believe he will be able to provide you with some knowledge of Mr Sean Pea; Nay! I am sure, since you will be able to obtain whatever information from him that you wish, you skilled
