    How to Read This Book

To become an effective flosser, you need to know two things: How and Why.

How is covered in the chapter How to Floss. If you have to know how stories end and you're used to reading the last pages of murder mystery novels, then go there first and learn the technique.

For everyone else, I think the best way to read this little book is in one sitting. It isn’t that long.

Once you finish reading, go buy or find your floss.

Put the floss where you plan to use it every day.

Think about tying the activity of flossing to other things you are already doing. For example, putting the floss near your toothbrush can connect the two activities in your mind. When you brush, you then automatically floss.

    This raises an obvious question.

Question: Which should I do first – brush or floss?

Answer: It doesn't really matter. You decide. (You see how flexible I am?)
