About this ebook
This book is written at the request of many of the new mothers and mothers to be who I have helped to overcome latching problems. They asked that I share my experience in helping mothers breastfeed. I have been an RN for almost 20 years and have helped hundreds of mothers get their babies to latch and successfully breastfeed.

BREASTFEEDING-OVERCOMING THE LATCHING PROBLEM
To keep this book as simple as possible, I will not go into a lot of statistics and research. If you would like more information, see the resource listing at the end of this book. I did not put the URLs/websites as these may change over time.
I have been a Registered Nurse for almost 20 years and have been helping mothers with breastfeeding for most of that time. I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) also. I write this book at the request of many breastfeeding mothers I have helped over the years. They suggested I share the information with other new mothers and mothers to be.
My experience has been working in hospitals, clinical settings and also doing home visits. I have taught breastfeeding classes and childbirth classes. The two most common problems I heard during my nearly 20 years working as a nurse were; My baby won't latch
and/or My nipple hurts when I breastfeed my baby
.
The purpose of this book is to help new mothers overcome some of the barriers which occur in the hospital environment by using a method which was likely used for thousands of years and before there were any doctors, nurses or hospitals. Many other countries still use this method today. After all, there weren't any books written about the subject of breastfeeding thousands of years ago (back in the cave days) for mothers to read.
