The cyclist flips me off as he passes my car. I wave apologetically and smile. Wasn’t my fault, anyway. That pickup truck cut me off.

Dickhead.

I pump the brakes and my car slows to a stop in front of the traffic light. God damn it, seriously? I’m gonna hit every right light in town tonight, aren’t I? The pickup truck speeds off ahead of me, because of course it does. I start drumming my fingers against the steering wheel impatiently. Just my stupid luck. I’m gonna be late getting home to my wife, and she’s gonna wonder where I am, and she’ll start to worry about me like she always does, and then when I do eventually get home, she’ll be all stressed during our birthday
