These are my impressions about Afghanistan, the beautiful country and amazing people. Visited several times during my assignments from the year 2016 till 2019. Apart from Kabul, I was fortunate to survive in spite of travelling to some of the risky areas too such as Jalalabad, Kapisa, Panjsher, Herat, etc.
The title is named ‘A Precious’ that is the land, resources, people, culture, life and much more that is Afghanistan.
The geography historically embarrassed Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and many other world religions.
British, Russians and now Americans have an interest because it is precious. It is part of the heartland a great place for geopolitics.
Unexplored rich minerals and precious stones - many countries are eyeing for peace to prevail and explore its richness.
Afghanistan produces high-value agriculture produces, even with limited land and irrigation. A promised land that could feed many countries in the world with improved irrigation potential.
Having the youngest people, determined and most adaptable would change global decision making.
Afghanistan is the country of happening in the next five decades. The emergence of leaders in all spheres is the key.
Leaving the comfort
I was watching the raindrops trickling down from rain-tree leaves. One by one, one after another, as though they are in line and waiting for their turn to detach for freedom.
I have decided to go to Kabul, Afghanistan for some assignments. Uma, my friend, was standing next to me and said ‘Anna your life is precious, don’t go.’
