Prologue
From out of a lifestyle which should have been much more Andrew fled to seek a new beginning in another township leaving his family home, his servants and one cruel old man he called dad behind. To seek a new life under-which he hoped would not be interfered with again by his dad. But then at the age of fifty five his life once again pulled him back to the family home and that is where Andrew’s story really starts to being.
That First Contact
Life truly does begin through the death of another
.
Following the funeral after the passing of his dad’s life in the year 1939, a man seen to light amidst worldly dealing he portrayed through a hidden mask. That one he held shown in view of public eye as a devoted loving family man with shared business ethics resenting God for the loss of his one and only beloved wife for all others to see. Tho, Andrew knew him by the other mask a stern cold natured whom, he loved just the same whilst having made allowances for; all the hurtful things his dad had done to him personally over the past fifty-five years now wasted away. During what was now another lifetime lived at Mornosh Manor; a poorly run down estate still in standing condition. Whose title deed wilt now finally become his own. Along with remaining several thousand left out of the family’s wealth not squandered by his late dad, he had managed to save. Despite an ongoing battle with those legal wolves’ leeches and their associated partners in government bodies whom, dreamt up a multitude of ideas intending to steal his inherit title or as much of his estate as they possibly could.
Not that it mattered for Andrew had grown accustom to people of ill-reputed natures, thanks to his largely sheltered lifetime under the cruel iron hand that his dear dead dad use to beat him with. Whilst, he effectively had kept Andrew out of the Manor’s stately duties. Which now, placed him a position requiring him to spend time around Mornosh Manor going through not only the remaining personal belongings left behind from his dad’s expired life force prior spent. Come to include taking into account duties he shalt now be preforming in order to kept the Manors future alive. Waged against a constant fight with the probate executors, whose only interest were overseeing the loss of almost two thirds of his family’s monetary wealth stolen in death duties and other false claims. Prior finally putting to rest his dad’s last life’s chapter behind him as he had hoped.
It was about this time as events continued to unfold when something unexpected brought forth a series of side events that shalt turn his life around in more ways than all he had ever known before.
The day had fallen three days past settlement as it turned out with freedom entering his life on that Sunday morn when, Andrew made the choice to find a little something special for the foyer entry in Mornosh Manor, changing the very spot his dad had always stowed a horrid hat stand; he just could not bear to look at any longer, nor would he have to, having made up his mind. Andrew stepped lively walking out and climbed inside the old pickup truck on a heading direction straight into town.
That is to say, the town of Tomormna which was not a very big town as Andrew knew well before his early adult years before moving away. In search of his own life down to a place called Dunmoring vale; in his early twenties seeking work in escaping a lifestyle away from the anger of his drunken dad. Whom, in his younger days as a child growing to a man; Andrew had found just as hard living with around Mornosh Manor even during what was meant to be the best of times in his life. Something his dad’s drunken abusive torrent upon him had stolen, and yet perhaps it was his dad’s abuse that had shaped his destiny as a much quieter more submissive man future in his own advantage. Who knows maybe it was fated to be given the three failed attempts to establish a life and family he made during the days of his dad’s living years.
But that was then, for now, it just so happened as Andrew stopped to visit a small secondhand store he had almost drove by on his way down to the custom-made furniture factory. A place which had become the town’s main source of industry employment. Set the opening scene in Andrew’s new life’s beginning, all because of a single sign he happened to notice displaying preloved sale, hanging in shops front window. Which was something he just had to see after having lived a life as one of the poorer people for some time. Had shown him just what it meant to respect the value of the money in ones’ life’s struggle to survive. Hence, he thought ‘the secondhand store was too great a temptation for him to pass up’. With the pickup truck rattling, away as he pulled up to a stop and went inside where he found a delightful lady of around 27 years in age named Janoel whom, at the time had been spending one of those slow-moving Sunday’s that seem to be just wasting away into empty hours. Working alone in this small secondhand store based on the corner of boardwalk way watching her life drift by. That was before she noticed a gentleman in his mid-fifties, walk into her life from out of the blue. Causing her heart to suddenly thumped in beats rising hotter with passion to skip three or four beats, after stepping inside looking around with a seemingly lost look on his face. Tho, Andrew did not see her as he slowly looked around passing down the center isle in his search for an old fashion settee chair to offset the front foyer entry of his new acquired mansion. Janoel on the other hand had become full focused in viewing Andrew’s natural healthy looking body shape that match his mature looking facial feature’s cast to her eye’s sight. Prior making her move without waiting too long after Andrew walked in before asking
Can I help you sir?
just to see Andrew turn her way and smile before answering
I am Looking for a settee suitable enough I can use to dress up the front entry of my home. But I cannot seem to see anything here that would fit the space
. Upon hearing Andrew’s softly spoken voice. Janoel could not help brushing, her hair back with a quick sweep of her hand feeling afraid she looked like a mess. Before replying
I am sorry, I currently have no settees in stock. But if you would like to tell me what style you are looking for, I may be able to track one down for you from one of the other branches we deal with
.
Andrew stopped and stood quiet for a second to think. Whilst Janoel fearing the silent reply made by Andrew meant the loss of an opportunity moved her step quickly towards him as she went on to asking nervously
Would you like me to do that for you sir?
. At first Andrew continued standing silent gazing into her eyes. With the trembling tone in the Janoel’s voice processing inside his mind, to answer.
Why not, I have a photo of the type of chair I am looking for
he added taking out the photo handing it across to Janoel.
Oh wonderful
she said gently taking photo from Andrew, in passing a flirtatious gesture allowing her forefinger to softly touch the back of his warm masculine hand as she received the photo from him adding That will help to make my job so much easier
, prior releasing her eyes from the captivating look she had given him and gaze down at the tattered old photo Andrew had handed to her.
Wonderful’ commented Andrew
how long will it take to get one".
Janoel’s first response was silent in taking in the question as she considered other thought’s she had in mind.
Yes, no a few days or weeks?
enquired Andrew seeking a reply.
Oh, sorry
Janoel commented. Reflecting her thought’s back to the topic of the settee after a short spell, glancing down in taking a second look upon the photo and smiled to say as she lifted to her head to give direct eye contact.
I have seen a similar one of these settees not long ago, maybe the owner will be willing to sell it. Mind you it has not been very well looked after. But I am sure that it could easily be repaired by the restorer we use if you would like the work done by us
.
It was at this time Andrew whilst standing there got lost in a trance of his own not
