Thirty Years to Life on Earth
()
About this ebook
Danhoff writes in a unique style combining prose, poetry and physics. The book is an experiment. He attempts to challenge mans complacency through social-political commentary and word play; free mind play. He succeeds in communicating his theme: intelligence, courage and morality. This is not an essay book to read. His thoughts merit consideration especially the more controversial ideas. Danhoff intended to build the basic foundation on the bedrock of prose, decorated with the art of poetry topped off with theoretical temporal physics. The author considers writing a learning experience and takes his responsibility as a writer very seriously. Danhoff hopes readers will find his work entertaining, educational and enlightening.
Jeffrey Danhoff
Danhoff has been writing for about thirty years. Among other occupations he was a teacher, counselor, and administrator. His current project (this book) was ten years in the making. He was ‘sidelined’ for several years with medical problems but eventually worked ‘back into the game’. Danhoff prefers the essay choice style of writing as a choice of genre. Some writers produce novels. He may do a novel one day…but not today. This book is a combination of prose, poetry and theoretical physics. Danhoff takes his responsibility as a writer seriously. He would advise anyone not dedicated to their work not to pursue a writing career. Danhoff currently resides in Michigan and continues to pursue a writing career.

THIRTY YEARS TO LIFE ON EARTH
I began writing about 30 years ago, then put it down for awhile and picked it up again about 10 years back. I did some writing periodically in between that time gap.
The following material is a collection of prose and poetry. The prose is non-fiction essay format. There is some Astrophysics math mixed in but it is not very technical. It is more pure theoretical. I find the editorial/essay-paper style a more comfortable genre of writing. Some writers do novels, books letters, diaries and/or journals because that is the style that is most natural for them. I may do a book one day but not today.
I did not intend this material to be an experiment, however that is how it turned out. I would advise anyone who is not completely dedicated to his or her work not to attempt writing as a career.
The remainder of the project is poetry. Writing poetry is like breathing oxygen. I built the basic, elementary foundation on the bedrock of prose, decorated that with the art of poetry and raised a tower of theoretical temporal physics which will reach for infinite/imaginary ideas (like original though). Hopefully it won’t all come down like a Tower of Babble.
The statement, There is no such thing as an original thought,
comes to mind. There may not be much original thought anymore, although I never quit trying for original creative, imaginary ideas. Where is this going? This collection of prose and poetry would not exist if I had first contemplated Murphy’s Law. There are 3 parts to this law; the first is nothing is as easy as it looks, second is everything takes longer than you think, and third is, if it can go wrong – it will.
I was painfully reminded of these and many other physic’s laws throughout the duration of the writing…it was a learning experience.
I take my responsibility as a writer and teacher quite seriously. The mass media is full of incompetent reckless amateurs. I hope when you read my writing you will be educated, entertained, and enlightened.
THE ANSWER
And like a towering redwood, standing
stubbornly in the social forest,
He cannot bend to the command of
the brutal wind – although he may break.
The individualist struggling in a conformist
Society, will most probably perish in that
society; however, considering the minute span
of time given any civilization to exist,
it is of little consequence here and now.
The facts related are less than nothing
For the true individualist will remain immortal,
His minds’ soul impregnable for all time,
in his own way – in Art.
The facts related are less than nothing.
He is the right person, in the wrong place,
at the wrong time; but He is a real man.
And should He perish, oh great plastic persecutors,
His destruction will not strengthen the reactionary
cause or the traditional society, but ruin it.
The death of the individualist’s, the brick walls,
the tall, strong trees will not make the
king or the government stronger by His destruction.
(For we may be half ruined by social deviance,
but we should be wholly ruined without it.)
The facts related are less than nothing
Yet, it may, it just might strengthen the
values of good men past, and good men yet to come
who have been, or will be persecuted,
prosecuted, exiled through out the deafening silence of the
blinding cosmic night and the dark, dire depths of eternity.
The facts related are less than nothing
The true man striving for freedom
often finds himself in the path
or the wake, (depending on one’s viewpoint)
of the socio-technological Tidal Wave
of progress
The facts related are less than nothing.
He finds it constantly looming over him
like a vulture hovering over an early
desert dinner.
However, humanity cannot be forced
to combine into one single, strong, whole
as the fluid action of different
chemical substances.
The reason? Humanity has not yet
learned that for Man there is no
such thing as strength -
only different degrees of weakness.
Looking deep into the blinding silence of cosmic night and…
sensing the eternal processes of astronomic time,
one may see that
the meek just may inherit the Earth
… And the facts related…
are less than nothing.
ATTACK OF THE KILLER P’S
For the benefit of anyone who knows or cares to know, beware of the deadly P’s - they are here.
Pride - It was responsible for heaven’s top angel falling from #1 to # none. Pride goeth before a fall.
Power - Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. The idea isn’t to get power but to get rid of power.
Profit - What does it profit a man to gain the ‘world’s’ riches and lose his immortal soul.
Property - The more you possess the more you are possessed by your own possessiveness. We think we own the land yet all of us will be buried in the land; it possesses us. We cannot own anything truly, not even the body we live in. We only rent things in the world.
Prestige - How can anyone claim credit for anything they did not do alone. And nobody does anything totally alone without help from anywhere. The process of civilization is a combined effort of cooperation between us all. We are all dependent on each other in life. Life is dependent on the creator.
BY ORDER OF THE KINGDOM: EXILE
Let it be known from now on and may the word go forth that from this day forward and for all time that: Citizens by this order forfeits title of the kingdom and seat in the assemblies of the kingdom and is commanded to quit the kingdom and all domains of kingdom. If they be not gone out of the kingdom and all domains in three days time, or if in their life they return into the kingdom, they shall be cast into Hell by anyone without further judgment. No one of the kingdom shall suffer them to speak to them or stay with them on pain of punishment, nor shall anyone of the kingdom give or lend money, goods, aid, nor repay any debt owing them on pain of severe punishment. Let all people of the kingdom know and say that the crime for which these beasts of little faith and no moral character are exiled is the crime of the seven deadly sins: they having urged privy under pretense of loyal service to the
