Eeala And The Water Dragons - Q. Imagine

    Intro

          A swimming sea

    when you swim with me,

    and we swim

    over here, over there.

    A swimming sea

    as we swim so free,

    grasping life with some bits

    of air.

    Swim with me

    in the Aceustik Sea,

    let’s swim near the islands,

    bold and fair.

    Swim with me,

    but swim carefully,

    only few get to swim

    where we dare.

    - The Water Dragons

Chapter 1: A Splash In The Sea

These waves are warm and quiet

    in this vast, Aceustik sea.

With the smell of salt and life

that drifts with every wave, on a spree.

Hear the sounds of a whipping palm tree

and a splash heard from beneath.

We see little Eeala open her eyes,

as well as clench her teeth.

She feels the salty, ocean splash

on her shorts as well as on her feet.

She can hear her mother’s voice

which lifts her from her hammock seat.

She calls, "Mama, please wait for me.

I’m coming. Don’t leave me behind."

Eeala looks down at the ocean

though there's nothing there to find.

    A sadness fills her heart

as she leaves the comfort of her

    palm tree.

So she jumps into the ocean

to leave this sadness with the sea.

Once the calm and clear waters

touch her mocha skin, they give relief.

    She dances within the waves,

    though her mother’s voice makes

    the dance brief.

She swims to the shore of her home island Zweif,

and can feel the hot sand beneath her feet.

Eeala races out of the water,

    drying quickly in the heat.

As she hears her best friend, Serphani,

shout at her with a warming greet.

Serphani brushes sand out of her black, curly hair

as her brown skin tans in her seat.

She says, "Eeala, when you’re done with dinner,

let’s see if we can meet."

Eeala looks back at her friend and says,

    Yea, girl. That sounds sweet.

Serphani asks, "Hey. Where you on

    that island again?"

    No.

    "Well, if you do go,

    please let me know when."

    I know.

    Eeala smiles gleefully back

    at her best friend.

They smile with such a joy

that their smiles hold no end.

Eeala runs closer to her home

and sees the gaze of her little sister.

She yells out joyfully, Eeala! Eeala,

letting her know that she has missed her.

Eeala runs past her and her sandcastle,

until she sees a little, purple shell.

She picks it up and walks over, saying,

Here, Aiya, this may look swell.

Aiya smiles and grabs it tightly, saying

    Aww, why thank you, Eeala.

She places it on her castle and says,

    "Mom was looking for you,

    as well as Aunt Cecilia."

I know, Eeala says as she races

    toward the cute, beach bungalow.

    It dazzles within the sunlight

with a pretty teal and a bold

    yellow.

She can smell the fried plantains

and roasted snapper on the stove.

As she walks up to the front porch,

she can see what her father caught in

    the cove.

She tries not to knock the bucket over

as she walks closer to the door.

    Since she remembered knocking

    the bucket over once,

and the fish flapping on the floor.

She walks toward the door and,

the screen door opens up to

    see her father’s gaze.

He says, "Hey, Eeala, don’t knock that over.

You’ll get that fish in a craze."

Eeala smells the salt of the sea on her father's

    shirt and dirty jeans.

The fish starts to flap wildly so she understands

    what he means.

He is tall and skinny, with a happy smile that

    carries on for days.

He stands in a rocking motion that's similar

    to the ocean sways.

Eeala asks, What is it, Daddy? A snapper?

"No, no. This is a rare fish, it’s called a

    Bronzed-head flapper."

She says, "Hey, I’ve seen that in the cove.

It tried to attack one of the silly clown fish."

Her father says, "Yeah but if you catch one,

it might grant you a wish."

Eeala’s eyes open wide. She says,

Well, Daddy, what did you ask for?

"I asked for a bunch of fish and something

to fix that hole in the floor."

    Eeala yells, That’s it!

He says, Yeah, honey, no need to have a fit.

Eeala replies, "Daddy, when the Aceustik Sea

    gives you something,

    you shouldn’t waste the gift."

Her dad then gives her a lift.

"Sweetheart, do you know what a lot

    of fish can do?"

"It could feed our family for a long time,

even after this old man is through."

    Dad!

    What, that ain’t bad.

There’s no need to worry, he calmed,

    and strokes her angered face.

Eeala smiles and gives him a warm embrace.

    "Aww,
