The Invitation
We are being invited to gather, along with the assemblies of heaven, a convocation, a sommoning, a cry for help, a call to gather, an invitation to come, a deep heart cry, an inquiry from God. An invitation from God, and an invitation for us to allow God to come in our midst.
The demand for holiness, for daily living in His Presence, for sacrificing of self, for covenant with God and leaving all flesh behind is higher. It is worth it. Living and walking in His Presence. There is nothing better. This holiness and consacration is not by outward rules but it spills out of our heart in love with God. It comes as a result of desiring God and walking in-love with Him.
Let us worship in the purest awe and reverence before God, how He likes it (Hebr. 12:28).
Some things with God have to be translated into words. When we spend time with Him, sometimes He imparts, as if He was downloading it into our spirit faster than words are able to explain -we have to translate it into words. Our words may not be completly accurate in describing what we just lived or encountered with God due to earth’s limitations. The longer we spend time with and remain in His Presence, the more we are allowing heaven to influence us, aligning with His same frequency, that of heaven. Let it be On earth as in heaven
, as Jesus prayed.
Surrender
Before we start doing anything we should always invite Holy Spirit in and surrender what we do, to Him. Before worshipping, welcome His Presence and ask Him to lead and take charge of the worship and tell Him, we surrender to Him. Appart from Him we can do nothing (Jhn.15:5).
This way, our worship which is something holy because it’s the closest we can get to God here on earth, will not be of our own ability or effort. Imagine the importance it has! When we surrender to Him, the Spirit of God will not be hindered.
When Holy Spirit is given His place as Lord and in charge, worship will be an anointed encounter. If He leads, it will not be dry. We will experience His life and things from God will come. God will impart things into our spirit in this place of glory. Sometimes His impartation is faster than words and it has to be translated into words. When Holy Spirit directly places a word, a seed or a Bible verse in your spirit, it is fastened strong in there.
Let’s consciously tell Him we surrender to His leadership. If He wants us to sing 3 words for two hours, let’s obey Him. In obeying His lead is the anointing that brakes the yoke. It’s vital that we follow His lead, His specific instructions for that specific time and situation. There is a lot of inspired songs He wants us to sing. It may be singing one short Bible verse for two hours. Follow His lead. It will be anointed. Our obedience in giving Him freedom will bless us. He is yearning to bless us.
When we surrender we are just a conduit. It is not us or anyone human bringing God’s Presence or glory down to earth, in the midst of our meetings. It couldn’t be us, even if we tried. It is Holy Spirit bringing His Presence. Our part is to surrender. When you surrender during worship you are allowing Holy Spirit to bring His Presence through you and out of you. All you can do is your part, moving yourself out of His way and letting Him be the Leader. Only God can do His part. We can’t invent, create, manufacture, mimic or copy His Presence. It is there or not. His tangible glory Presence.
For the Spirit of God to do what He wants to do through each of us in this hour, we have to obey Him, surrendering our body and mind. That way He can Be and express Himself through you. A surrendered vessel, being His Body on earth, bringing His Presence to earth. Self glory or pride can not be found in carrying His Presence because it’s not something anyone can perform or do. We allow Holy Spirit to bring His Presence through surrendering and surrendering has to be real, or it is not surrender. It can’t be faked because it’s something intimate between you and God alone. It’s a decision and a choice, available to all His Church.
God is calling His people to surrender, not only at the time of worship when we come together, but to live a life of continuous surrender to Holy Spirit, to live for Him and have no other reason to live. (Gal. 2:20) A life surrendered in consecration to God on a daily practical basis. A life in spirit, lead by the Spirit.
When am less able is when I recognize that without Him I can do nothing and when I surrender most to Him. I need Him. I must depend entirely on Holy Spirit. It is then that He is more able through us (2 Cor. 12:9). And all He does is beautiful and great!
Surrendering is relying on Him, knowing He can and He will take care of it and do it better than us. It feels sweet to rely and really surrender and having Holy Spirit really close to us. It’s a relief. I don’t know how the word surrender can mean to some people work or effort -when it’s the opposite. It’s in surrender He gives us His grace making us able to do it. It’s in the grace of surrender that it flows easy. It’s like being a child and trusting your Big Parent when He comes and helps you.
We start worshipping by surrendering to Holy Spirit, inviting Him to lead and do whatever He may want to do. We recognize the Presence of Holy Spirit and set our intention in worship.
An encounter with God means to experience His tangible Presence. When we surrender to Holy Spirit we are inviting the Presence of God.
Holy Spirit is an Eternal Spirit (Heb.9:14). He lives in you (1 Co. 3:16), we have intimacy with Him (2 Co. 13:14), we are one with Him (1 Co.6:17), He pours God’s love in our hearts (Rom. 5:5), as a Person He is, He can be grived (Eph. 4:30). He is very sensitive and the most powerful Person on earth (Acts 1:8).
Holy Spirit is Lord and God over His Church (2 Co. 3:17). He is not an invisible abstract force. He is God. He was Present during creation along with our Father and The Word. He is a Person. We need to honor Him and give Him His place. When a child of God lives ignoring Holy Spirit, we are missing walking in the supernatural world of God around us. It’s like the spirit world around us continues to be real, but we are muting it by ignoring it. We do activate it and make it real and us flowing in it just buy a tiny desire, a tiny recognition of God’s world around us. And the more we focus on it, the more real it becomes and the more interaction and the more we get from the supernatural spirit glory world around us.
When we have an encounter with God, His love fills us, permeating and infusing us. We get to experience the most beautiful deep pure love, the love of God.
We need to abandon ourselves in worship. God wants each and everyone in His Church to spend time with Him, alone you and Him, every day.
He desires to be intimate with you. Spend time with Him, allow Him to permeate His love into every area of your being and life.
The action of singing nice good church songs without the intention in worship, could become empty actions, religiously singing or performing as a singer. Worship is not performing as a singer. A performer entertains. We are His channels of worship. A channel is a conduit by which something flows (electricity, water, God’s power). We are channels to Him Who is The Author of Life Himself. A channel doesn’t think, a channel is there for the substance to flow through.
We are conduits or pipes for Him. Just do your part, obey what He is doing. Let Holy Spirit worship through us, letting Him become live worship through us, literally being His Body. He will flow His worship through us.
We are not performers of nice music or a nice show. The importance is not in the external visible but in the heart’s attitude. There may be nice music, but it has to come out of the right hearts. We are tools in God’s hand, establishing, creating change for peoples and nations, for them to get to know Jesus, our live King.
Worshippers are not choir directors or stage animators or presenters. Those careers and jobs have their place, and they are never to be mixed with worshipping. People that work in these careers can worship, but please, just surrender all human effort and professional learned skills to Holy Spirit.
I’ve seen worship people acting as animators, maybe the intention is good but it just doesn’t feel right. The congregation does not need to be animated into worship. We don’t need worship leaders acting as performers. It’s not going to be one person in front trying to encourage others to see if they find the will to clap their hands and sing. If the worship team is to stay in front of the congregation, there is no need for the leader to fix their eyes on individual people, as singers in nice shows do. I’ve seen praise leaders looking into people’s eyes trying to move people into praising along, using so much self effort, trying to make people participate and engage in singing. This is an effort of flesh. People has not responded to this. It didn’t work. This performance of self effort and flesh is not effective in making people give God their heart in worship to Him. Maybe it did work as far as having a couple people start clapping and singing, but externally. What we are after is the whole congregation surrendering each one, their heart in worship to God right there.
It will be wonderful and powerful when all present set our attention on God and surrender while we worship.
Worship must come from each one there being on fire to worship, with a yearning desire to meet, to encounter God. No one can make another person worship God, by looking into them and trying in their effort to encourage them to do so. We can tell people to set their heart in worshipping God but the actual heart-action must come from each one, individually.
Living Sacrifices
We are called to be living sacrifices. Living in consecration unto God in spirit, soul and body. Our spirit given to Him, our soul too. Giving our soul to God means taking practical steps in watching what we allow coming into our soul though reading, social media, movies, the type of movies, tv., conversations, words, all that comes through our eyes and ears, and even what we speak and think. There is different demands for different times in our lives. But in general, we want to keep ourselves holy unto God. And this holiness starts in the heart, in our soul, our
