Somewhere outside the office, literally in another world, rain poured down on the city in a late summer storm that chilled the Minnesota humidity. Given another six months, she could take a two-week vacation. At the moment, that sounded lovely, like a far off dream she could see in faded colors.
At the same time, two weeks didn't seem like nearly enough for the work she was required to do.

The constant dinging noise from her computer, like pixelated rain pelting on her forty inch monitor, was driving her a little more insane with every passing hour.
