About this ebook

In a world where you feel imprisoned every day emotionally, financially, mentally, and spiritually, nothing is as heartbreaking as realizing that the prison was you. This is a book based on the stories of two young Rwandans to help you get a breakthrough.

The world is a mirror. It's impossible to look in the mirror and not see yourself. Our perceptions of the world around us depend on who we are, rather than what the world is. The majority of people tend to blame life, but this is incorrect. The truth is, who we are, is the window through which we view the world. And this is what greatly determines how we live. You can't know what you don't know until you identify the window through which you view the world.

If you ever have wondered "Why am I the person I am?" THE 4 GENIUS WINDOWS will help you discover the answer to that important question. It all comes down to your genius window; the window through which you view the world. Dive into these pages, do the genius windows tests and discover the way you look at love and relationships, money, achievements, government, crises, sex, and much more. You will understand why you don't know what you don't know about the critical areas of your life. Why keep living a mediocre life when you can enjoy an abundant life? Get started right now – understand why you don't know what you don't know and see yourself changing, upgrading your life, and shifting to the better window today.

It is a book that will grow with the engagement of readers and will develop through a number of editions. In time, it may well be a classic for all ages. It is a great achievement for the two authors who have put heart and soul into it.

Having known J. Eric & Frank Rubaduka since they were exceptional student leaders in high school, there is no single grain of doubt in my mind that they are geniuses. They possess intellectual curiosity, think deeply, and ask the most challenging questions. These traits have always placed them at the top in their careers – education and business. I recommend every young and old person read this book like a starving man eats bread to discover who you are and live to your fullest potential!

    ~Samuel K. Birondwa, Rwanda

    Cornerstone Leadership Academy principal

    CIC Pastor

Rarely a book captures my heart and sets it ablaze the further I go down the table of contents. This book ranks top in the category right now, since I wouldn’t put the Bible in the competition.

It is not what you get out of a book that makes it great, it is what the book awakens in and gets out of you that matters. Have no doubt, The 4 Genius Windows is dangerous! The world has not met the person you’ll become the moment you read through this book and operate on its level of awareness.

    ~ Jonathan Mugisa Basara, Canada

    Consultant & Coach

After going through all the chapters – the book is terrific, it invites us on a journey of self-discovery and ushers us into consolidating the gains of this discovery! The 4 Genius Windows is a must-read for every young man and woman and those still finding themselves. This book touches all the 4 dimensions of life; spiritual, physical, social and mental, with each chapter helping us to know where we are and where we ought to be!

    ~ Amos Kasigwa, Uganda

    Country Director, Two Roads Foundation.

Most young African children and even adults will relate to this great book. Eric & Frank share their successes and failures, and every reader will (re)discover themselves as they turn the pages. It is my hope that, by the last page, you will move out of the self-created prison as these two authors did and discover your true worth. While the authors dedicated this book to young African talents, I would recommend even adults who are stuck in their comfort zone turn these pages and rediscover themselves.

It costs zero dollars to dream but it costs almost everything to live your dreams and impact the world. Therefore, for those who want to live and experience their dreams The 4 Genius Windows is the book to reckon with. It unpacks the hidden genius that everyone is born with, and equips you with skills to fully be a master in your endeavors and aspirations.

~Enoch Tumwine; founder and president African Rebirth/ Political science specialist / University of Toronto.

With simple language and challenging insight, The 4 Genius Windows, is a powerful navigational tool that will help inspire the reader to harness their genius. Seriously, I couldn’t think of one person in my life who doesn’t need this book. Eric and Frank's stories in this book are so relatable as well as captivating. You’ll find yourself in the pages and stories, and at its end, you will find yourself, like me, adjusted to thrive. Your life will be enriched by reading this book.

~ Enock Luyonza, Author, Beyond Walls; Breaking Out of the Jail of Limitation

Eric and Frank skillfully employ their authentic stories to elucidate 4 windows of viewing the world, how your window can determine the results you will get in different life aspects, and how to shift from one window to another. This book is an excellent gift to young people, especially in the developing world.

~Gamaliel Ririhafi, Rwanda, Clinical Psychology Student, University of Rwanda

When I came across the theory of nature vs nurture, one would agree with me that we are all born intelligent. However, as we grow, meet different people, see things and learn, our environment too plays a big role in reducing or increasing our intelligence.  It is not a secret that reading not only assists readers with fluid intelligence, but also with comprehension and emotional intelligence as well. Young leaders should do justice to themselves and get a book that can unlock the way they view and perceive things. I am for great books and trust me, reading The 4 Genius Windows will assist with opening how you interact with others, how you see yourself and how to improve the level of your intelligence.

    ~Masesebe Wa Ramahuma, South Africa.

The 4 Genius Windows is really a magnificent fire to kindle the souls of those who have not yet discovered themselves, as well as lighting the candle for those who are in terror of facing the world and its reality. It is a roadmap to self-enlightenment, self-discovery and freedom. A fast-paced mix of knowing where you belong and how to do well to get where you want to be. It's a must-read for everyone who wants to make it in life, and those who want to face the reality behind our fears, trauma, curiosity and shyness. Read it, do the tests and know more about yourself, and what your future holds.

    ~Sandrine Munezero, Rwanda

    Director of Miss Career Africa

In life, there are things you know, there are things you do not know. Then there are things you think you know but you do not know. This book serves the most important aspect: There are things that you do not know you do not know. If you want to know them, The 4 Genius Windows is for you. After all, the difference between the rich and poor is in what they know.

~Nyasha Serimani, Zimbabwe, Nutritionist, CEO and Founder of Table Turn Consultancy.

Books have been written but this one is a mind breakdown not to break you up, rather to build you up. As it discloses different characters and behaviors, it gives time to reflect on oneself as personal testing kit and also acts as traffic lights in the jam of our daily routines, choices and dreams. I won’t be surprised to see it added in the curriculum because it tackles the heartbeat of every developmental sector which is education. This book is for readers to lead and leaders to read.

    FOREWORD

Why are we here on Earth? After all my years of spiritual research, I have arrived at the conclusion that we come to Planet Earth for two main reasons:

1.To learn certain lessons that this tough world provides for the growth and development of our souls.

    2. To fulfill a particular mission or assignment that we were sent here to carry out.

I have been teaching this concept for decades all over the world and have seen it transforming the lives of those who took it personally and lived accordingly. I met Frank and Eric in various Youth Leadership programs and they welcome this concept into their lives. I saw them growing and seeking to accomplish their assignments. I have been privileged to be a mentor and sponsor of Frank’s social initiatives and a proud mentor and a believer of Eric’s career growth curve.

I am gladdened that in The 4 Genius Windows, they, using their personal experiences, unpack this concept.

One of my favorite passages in the Bible brings this out. It is where the prophet Jeremiah wrote: The word of the Lord came to me saying: ‘I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.’ Jeremiah 1:4-5 (A belief I have seen Frank and Eric living!).

And just like Jeremiah, I believe that you and I made some kind of ‘agreement,’ in heaven with God, before we were born, and we are sent here to earth at this time to carry out a mission. A mission that makes our contribution to that better world that all hearts long for – or what Jesus called the coming of the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.

This may not necessarily be to do something great – it could just be that you are meant to be light to those around you. Every time you choose to participate in a loving response, in bringing order where there is disorder, in bringing reconciliation where there is disunity, in bringing better service to others, in bringing integrity where there is lack of it, in an act of kindness, in a loving thought, in forgiveness, you are helping to manifest the coming of the Kingdom of God on Earth.

As it comes in... there will be more harmony, more order, more peace, more kindness, more love of neighbors, more justice, more development... and less corruption, less waste, less pain, less suffering, less conflict, less poverty.

Building on this idea, it makes perfect sense that everything you need to fulfil your mission is within you. It lies dormant at the level of your soul – like your spiritual DNA. God would not send you on a mission without equipping you with what it takes to fulfil it. This is similar to what the authors of this book, Frank and Eric, are calling your inborn genius seed. And this book is unequivocally going to be your wakeup call. Once you start reading The 4 Genius Windows you will start to unlock the genius within you. It is the kind of a book I wish I had read when I was 19.

There are a variety of areas that will help activate those seeds of greatness and harness your full potential. These areas include:

    1. Your beliefs

    2. Your motivation

    3. Your mentors

    4. Your self-leadership

    5. Your consistency over time

    6. Your capacity to surrender to God.

The 4 genius windows will increase your awareness of your beliefs and motivations in different critical aspects of your life as the starting point to molding them in way that harnesses your full potential.

Personally, from an early age, I developed a feeling that I was not here on earth for mere survival, or only to live a self-centered life, or only to collect as much wealth as I could for me and my family. There was purpose bigger than me that my life was supposed to be about.

This realization led me to make a ‘dangerous prayer’ at the age of 19 that went like this: Here I am Lord, use me. I will do what you want me to do. I will go where you want me to go. I will be what you want me to be.

Soon after, it seemed that an invisible hand gradually began to guide my life. I was taken through various experiences and came into contact with significant people, all of which prepared me and led me to leave the United States, where I had gone for university after growing up in Africa, and to return home for what become my ‘life work.’

Eventually I teamed up with others and created Cornerstone Development Africa, which focuses on youth leadership development. It was through our various programs that I met Frank and Eric. I am proud to call myself their mentor. These two friends did not go through our cornerstone academies but like I always say, Some of the young leaders go through Cornerstone and for others, Cornerstone goes through them.

I know many of you reading this are worried about your future – just like the first followers of Jesus were. But today He offers us the same advice and promise that He gave to His disciples. And that is to seek first the Kingdom of God and if they would do that he would help them in regards to their material needs. All these things that the pagans are chasing. (Mt.6:32)

It makes sense – does it not?? If the Big Goal for our planet is to see the Kingdom of God coming to Earth, then the more we align our life and our entire life purposes with the over-arching cause of God, the more we will be taken care of by God.

But please also realize that it says, seek first the Kingdom of God not seek ONLY. You still must be wise in the practical concerns of life. You still must study, work hard, save, invest – to generally be wise and be responsible in regards to the practical aspects of your life.

One of the questions I am frequently asked by young people is: How do you know your calling? How do you discover your mission? I often reply that this is a question most people spend their life working out. And, from my observation, it’s often not until age 30 that most people settle into what will be their life work or vocation.

Meanwhile, be patient with the processes God is taking you through, be faithful to whatever responsibilities are being entrusted to you, and keep nurturing those dreams and aspirations in your heart that seem to be hinting at what your mission in life. Here is a story that speaks about this topic. It’s called The Three Great Trees.

One night, over 2000 years ago, a man was sleeping, only to be awakened in the middle of the night by an angel. The angel gave him 3 seeds to plant and told him to care of them until they grew tall. He was told that all of these 3 seeds had great potential. They would not only to grow into nice trees... but they were destined for greatness and to be used for something significant.

So, the man planted the seeds on a hill outside of town... and carefully watered them all his life until they grew tall. And as he cared for them, he would tell them that they were all destined for greatness.

These 3 trees had a way of communicating with each other and they would share with each other the different things their hearts were telling them – the great things they felt they were going to become one day.

One tree said, I believe there is greatness in me and one day I will hold the most important and precious things in the world. I feel my wood will be made into a beautiful box, something like a treasure chest, for holding rare and precious things maybe like all the king’s gold and jewels.

The second tree said, I believe there is greatness in me and one day I will be made to carry very important people across the oceans. I see myself becoming a great sailing ship.

And the third tree said, I also believe there is greatness in me but I feel I am to remain on this very spot where I will stand tall, be close to God and will be seen by everyone in the world.

Now eventually the man who planted the trees died and people came to cut down all three of the trees for timber. The first that believed he would become a treasure chest instead became a wooden feeding-box used for holding grass for cows and horses in a small shelter for animals at night.

And the second tree that believed he would become a big ship and sail the ocean with important people instead became a simple fishing boat used by a group of simple fishermen on a nearby lake.

And the third tree that believed he would remain there on that hilltop growing tall, close to God, seen by the whole world was just cut up into long pieces and left like that – piled in pieces.

All of these trees wondered why they had ended up in such humble forms, when they had been told they were destined for greatness and had developed their own visions for greatness. Years went by, and the trees almost forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and woman looking for accommodation came to spend a night in the barn where the first tree had been made into a feed box for animals from the first tree. That night, the woman gave birth and placed her baby in the feed box or manger. Angels came to the place and then the tree suddenly realized the great importance of this event. And, it realized that it was being used to hold the greatest treasure of all time: the baby Jesus – so the dream of its heart since long ago had been fulfilled.

Thirty years later, a group of men who often used the fishing boat made from the second tree were trying to cross the sea at night when a great storm arose. The tree made into a boat wondered if it was strong enough to keep these men safe. But, the men woke up one of the sailors who was sleeping, and He stood up and shouted to the storm:  Peace, be still! The storm stopped. At that moment, the tree suddenly realized that all along it had been carrying the King of Kings and his 12 disciples, and that the dream of its heart since long ago had been fulfilled.

A couple years later, some angry people came to get the pieces that had been cut from the third tree. They nailed two big pieces together into a cross and the wood was carried on the back of a man, through the town and up to a hilltop as people mocked the man carrying it.  This was the very hilltop where the tree had grown, and there the man carrying the cross was nailed on it and it was raised upright.

At that moment, the third tree suddenly realized that the dream of its heart since long ago had been fulfilled. Because it was now very close to God, covered with the blood of Jesus, and it was being raised up high in a way that the whole world was to see and remember that day forever.

The moral of this story is that we all have seeds of purpose and of greatness deposited within us to fulfil our mission. And those seeds will express themselves as some kind of yearning, ambition or feeling that there is something we are supposed to be or something we are to do.

Maybe you have a feeling that you are to be the president of the country. Well it
