About this ebook

Tenley Langston is an indepent woman, and she doesn't need a man. After being burned by her last boyfriend, she made a promise to herself to kick men to the curb and focus on herself. She doesn't need them anyway, especially not one that's a doctor.

Griffin Wood is a man who knows what he wants and doesn't stop until he gets it. That's why when he sets his sights on Tenley, he's not put off by her cold shoulder. Underneath her frosty attitude is a flame that will burn them both to the ground.

Tenley is bound and determined to keep Griffin at arms length, but when trouble comes calling, he shows up like a knight in shining armor making it hard for her to resist him anymore. With Grant stirring up trouble, will their love be able to survive?

Warning: This book contains a doctor who knows what he wants and how to get it, a stubborn woman who puts up one heck of a fight, and Grant. We all hate Grant by now, don't we? And we can't forget the nurse outfit. There's one of those too.

Loving the Doctor - Dezi Dixon

    Tenley

"If you don’t show up, we can’t be friends anymore."

It was an empty threat. My BFF Rayleen was all bark and no bite. Of course I’d be at her BBQ even if I’d rather gouge my eyeballs out with a hot poker. I wouldn’t do that to my friend.

I think I’m coming down with Swine Flu, I told her. It was our code for please don’t make me do this shit.

I heard Rayleen sigh into the phone. All right.

And with that, I felt like total shit. Rayleen would suck up anything if I needed or wanted her someplace. I should do the same for her.

    Oh, fine. I’ll be there.

Really? she asked, excitement bubbling through her words.

Yeah. It’s against best friend code to let my best friend celebrate getting married without me.

Thank you! See you at one.

One? I asked, aware that something was amiss. Thought the invite said three.

Well, since you’re coming, I thought we’d hang out before and you can help me get ready.

Rayleen’s style was top-notch. Something didn’t add up, but before I questioned her further, she’d said her goodbyes and hung up the phone. Guess I’d be showing up early.

Rayleen and I used to live just down the road from each other. That was until she’d gone and tied the knot in a quickie wedding that shocked everyone. Her now husband Isaac had been in an incident at work and got stabbed by a deranged patient. When he’d come to the hospital, he’d asked my friend to marry him. They called the chaplain in immediately. Not gonna lie, I hate that I didn’t get to fulfill my maid of honor duties. I would have made a kick ass assistant to the bride.

Now that they’d gotten married and were living together, it took me much longer to make my way Rayleen’s new, posh house. I was no stranger to the community she now called home. I used to date Grant, and his place was in the swanky gated community where many of the doctors of Paradise General resided.

Just thinking about Grant made my skin crawl. He hadn’t been a terrible guy the whole time we dated. In the beginning things were good, really good. Many times I thought I’d found the person I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. Then I walked in on him balls deep in an intern, and all my dreams came crashing down around me.

The day I found my doctor boyfriend screwing around behind my back, I swore off men, especially doctors. I wouldn’t say all of them were dillholes, but there weren’t any left for me. No way was I drinking that Kool Aid again.

A sound chimed on my phone, and I was certain it was Rayleen. Sure I was twenty minutes late, but she’d had her fair share of tardies in our time together.

My middle finger twitched, and as if it had a mind of its own, my hand was out the window, and I was flipping off the over-the-top house that belonged to the man I once dated. Grant did everything big. He had a monstrous house, a vehicle that was too large for him, and was flashy as hell. He did it to make up for the lack of dick in his pants, or in his case, the one he couldn’t keep inside them.

Another text alerted me to the fact that I needed to get to my friend’s house. She was more than likely on the verge of a major freak-out or thinking I’d bailed.

When I pulled up, I noticed a few cars in the drive. Rayleen had been so excited about moving in with her man, for obvious reasons, but also for the garage. We didn’t have those at our apartments, and knowing Isaac, he didn’t
