About the Author

Dr. Tahir Saleem Khokhar, MBBS, MCPS (Psych), is a psychiatrist and member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Psychiatry (Pakistan).

After graduating from Dow Medical College, affiliated with a government teaching hospital in Karachi, he continued to work in internal medicine for quite some time, as he wanted to pursue his career as a general physician. However, by a twist of fate and destiny, he landed in one of the most prestigious institutes of psychiatry: WHO Collaborating Centre for Mental Health and Research in Pakistan. There, he received his post-graduate training for four years.

He worked for five years in a major private psychiatric facility in Karachi, and then for 15 years in the Ministry of Health: Kuwait Centre for Mental Health.

He presented papers at three international psychiatric conferences held in Pakistan. He also published a paper in an international journal and in one locally funded by the Kuwait Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS).

Dr. Tahir is among the few fortunate writers whose manuscript (The Human Mind: Secrets of the Mind: A Journey to an Unknown Destination) was accepted by the very first publishing company he approached. However, he opted for the self-publishing route to publish his first non-fiction book.

Apart from his passion for writing, his interests include watching classical English movies, horror movies, and Dilip Kumar movies; listening to Muhammad Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, and Madam Noor Jehan; travelling; and, last but not least, driving sports cars.

He lives in Ontario, Canada with his wife, three grown sons, daughter, and daughter-in-law.

Preface

Although I love my first non-fiction book, entitled, The Human Mind: A Journey to an Unknown Destination: Secrets of the Mind, I decided to launch this book at the last moment, as I had become eager to experience the response and reaction of my audience.

Ever since my younger days, I have been fascinated by Dracula movies. I haven't watched all of them, but whatever movies I have seen, I enjoyed very much.

I took my inspiration from these movies. I have tried to write something about Dracula that I hope my readers will find interesting.

It’s a sequel to the film story ‘Horror of Dracula’ by the Hammer Film Productions. The audience is warned to read it at their own risk.

I was fortunate to have found good artists who have done a wonderful job on the illustrations. I would send them my drawings and explain to them the concept and the scene. The image of the bat at the end of all the chapters is mine, and it was computerized by my computer operator.

All the characters in this novel are fictional and imaginary. Any resemblance to real-life characters is by chance and coincidental.
