I've never been one of those women to have a hobby. As a mother of two, one of which has cerebral palsy, there was never any time for hobbies. Between therapies and doctors’ appointments and full-time care, hobbies were not something I had time for. During the lockdown of the pandemic, therapy offices were closed, schools were closed, and doctors’ appointments turned into video calls; I suddenly found myself with a lot of time on my hands. I had been reading different novels when something just clicked, and I decided to try writing. For as long as I could remember, I have been able to develop stories out of thin air, create characters, plots, settings; the whole nine yards. I just never actually sat down and put pen to paper. I kept my stories locked away, hoped I wasn't crazy and went on about my daily life. But when I started writing for the first time, the words just seemed to flow right out of me. The story, the characters, the plot, all of it seemed to just be right there on the tip of my tongue and as fast as I could type, was as fast as it was coming out. I was absolutely amazed by what was happening. I decided to put my story on a website for amateur authors, and the response I received was unbelievable. I was encouraged by the readers and their comments that I continued writing. My husband and I would stay up all hours of the night, talking about plots, or talking about character or developing an ending. The story truly took on a life of its own and became so much more than I could have ever imagined. What I thought was going to be just twenty or thirty chapters, turned into over fifty chapters, and set itself up for a sequel. This whole process has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, and I can’t wait to finish the next books in the series. I hope you all enjoy book 1 of the Geno Family Series!! Love to all!

    Ophelia's Bodyguard - Amie Daniela

    Chapter 1

    Ophelia

My body shivered as he ran his hands across my naked form. He wrapped his hand around my throat, gently kissing the sensitive spots of my neck.  Moving down, he took my nipples into his mouth, licking and sucking them gently. I moaned out his name as his hands brushed across my sensitive clit, Damian I screamed, as he slipped his finger inside –

THE SOUND OF MY ALARM clock pulled me from my dream, Dammit, I hollered, as I leaned over to slam the snooze button. I have got to stop dreaming about my bodyguard. But it’s not that easy. Being around him day after day is torture. It’s like being half aroused all the time. Damian Blackman is the definition of alpha masculinity. From defined forearms covered in tattoos, to his bulging biceps, and a chiseled jawline that holds a perfectly trimmed stubble at all times. Everything about him screams pure confidence. How is it possible for a man to look so damn hard on the outside, yet his ocean blue eyes betray him and tell of a softer, gentler side.

To top it off, his deep voice holds a thick Texas accent that has the power to send the most erotic thoughts running through my mind. I probably shouldn’t think about him that way though. He’s been working for my dad for almost two years, he’s friends with my brothers and I’m fairly sure he probably sees me as just the little sister. Which sucks. But dammit to hell if I can’t help but fantasize about what it would sound like hearing his deep voice groaning in pleasure against my skin. It would be as tantalizing as having his hands tangled in my hair guiding my mouth around his cock.

After lying in bed for a moment, trying to calm the storm that was building in my core, I decided to push those thoughts away. There was no way in hell he would ever see me as more than the little brat he protects on a daily basis.

I got out of bed and pushed back the curtains to my private balcony. My room was on the east side of the house that overlooked the pool and the massive flower garden dad had planted for me and mom when he had our house built.

This is my favorite time of year; the flowers were in full bloom and everything was coming back to life after the harsh winter. I wake up early most mornings to watch the sunrise, it was something my mom and I used to do when she was alive. From the time I was young, she would wake me up early in the morning and we would go out on the balcony to watch the sunrise together. She said that was her favorite time of day. My dad and the boys would still be sleeping, and we would sit together talking and watching the sunrise. As I got older, we would talk about life, my boy problems and what I wanted to do after high school.

Unfortunately, mom never got to see me graduate high school. My junior year she was diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer. No matter how much chemo and radiation she tried, it was too late.

She died the summer before my senior year. I miss her so deeply, there has been so much I wish I could share with her. Every night I still set an alarm and wake up to watch the sunrise.

After sunrise, I walked back into my room and closed the balcony doors behind me. Going into my bathroom, I turned on the water in my walk-in shower, undressed and dropped my clothes in the hamper. I washed my long curly brown hair, scrubbed my face, and soaped up with my favorite lavender body wash. Once finished, I rinsed off and stepped out of the shower grabbing a towel off the warmer to wrap up my hair. Wrapping a towel around my body, I walked into my massive closet to pick out clothes for the day. Damian and I would be going to Montreal to go shopping with my friends. My twenty first birthday is coming up in a few days and I still haven't found the perfect dress.

I walked over to the island and opened the top drawer and grabbed a pair of white lace panties and a bra to match. I put on a pair of ripped skinny jeans, a long white sleeve crop top, and a pair of nude strappy caged high heel sandals. Walking over to the display cases, I put on my rose gold Tiffany bracelet and my matching Rolex watch with a white Mother of Pearl diamond dial.

Pulling the towel off my head, I went back into the bathroom and took a seat at the vanity. Using my fingers, I got out any tangles, applied my curling mousse, gel, and thermal treatment, giving it a quick blow dry and left it to hang. I decided to go with a natural look for my makeup, only putting on a little foundation, eyeliner, and mascara.

I got up from the vanity and picked up my black Louis Vuitton handbag, walked over to my nightstand, grabbed my phone and wallet, and put them in my bag. I stopped at the mirror to admire my outfit and my toned hourglass figure, walked out the door and made my way downstairs to the kitchen.

Henry, our personal chef, was already cooking breakfast and dad was sitting at the bar talking to him. Dad was not your typical 60-year-old guy. He was 6'4 and was still very physically active. He could still hang with my brothers when it came to working out in the gym or going down to the range to run drills. Everyone thought of him as intimidating because of his alpha personality, but to me, he was like one big ass teddy bear.

Walking over to dad, I gave him a kiss on the cheek, Good morning dad!

He put his arm around my waist and returned my kiss, Good morning sweetheart.

I walked over to Henry and gave him a quick side hug, Breakfast smells awesome.

    Thank you, Ophelia.

I set my purse down next to my chair at the table and walked over to the cabinet. I pulled out my favorite mug and poured myself some coffee. I added sugar and vanilla cream and took a seat at the island to talk to dad.

    What's on your agenda today?

Well, I'm flying to Newark today. I have a meeting at the office, then I am going over to the shipping port. I'm also going to the club to see how the renovations are going and to talk to Liam about some business. I'll probably grab some dinner while I'm down there and be back later tonight.

Damn, you have a busy day. When you see Liam, tell my big brother I said hi. It's been a while since he has been home.

Liam is my older brother, he lives in New York City, and takes care of a few of dad’s night clubs in the city. He’s not big on coming home very often.

Yeah, I know, but he has a lot going on with the night club, so go easy on him. Anyway, what time are you meeting your friends in Montreal?

I’m going to leave after breakfast.

He looked at me sternly, You’re taking Damian, right?

I rolled my eyes, hating the fact that I even had to have a bodyguard in the first place, but with Damian it wasn’t too bad, Yes dad, I’m taking Damian.

Good. I honored your request and assigned him as your bodyguard, so I don’t want to catch you ditching him. You hear me?

I put my head down, Yes sir.

When Henry finished cooking breakfast, he fixed dad a plate and refilled his coffee cup. Dad took his seat at the head of the table, as Noah, Oliver and James came into the kitchen. Noah and Oliver are twins, and the man whores of the family. They are just as tall as dad and have the same athletic muscular build and the same personality. Growing up with those two was like a daily wrestling match. They were always trying to outdo each other. As they got older, they realized what one lacked, the other one had. They started working together and relied on each other's strengths.

They joined the Army together and served three tours in eight years. When they got out, they decided to stay around the house and help Jax, dad's head of security, train the team that stays on the property full time. They even built their own firing range and training site at the back of the property. James is a few years older than me and he is nothing like Noah and Oliver. He was a little nerdy, tall slender figure, and he keeps to himself mostly. He takes off to Paris every chance he gets to stay with his girlfriend, Emily. I’ve come to the realization that the gene pool must have run out by the time it got to me. I was the shortest one in the family at only 5'6.

Noah walked over to me and patted me on top of the head, Good morning O!

I hollered at him and slapped his hand away from my hair, DON’T TOUCH MY HAIR!

Oliver started laughing while pouring himself a cup of coffee, Get him O.

Dad chuckled and shook his head, Leave your sister alone Noah.

I looked at Noah, crunched my nose up and stuck out my tongue. He narrowed his eyes and stuck his tongue back at me.

James walked over to the counter and pulled out his coffee mug, Morning, he mumbled.

I was excited that he was back home, but knew it probably wouldn’t last too long, Morning James, how was your trip to Paris?

It was good. I’ll be going back in a few weeks.

I pouted my lip, Aw really? You’re going to leave me here with these two buffoons?

He moved closer to me and whispered, Why don’t you come with me when I go back?

    Really?

Yeah, I think it would do you some good to get away from here for a while. Plus, I know Emily would love to finally meet you.

    I might do that.

I picked up my mug, walked over to the table and set it down, went over to the counter and fixed myself a plate. I grabbed two biscuits and spread butter and jelly in the middle. I got two pieces of bacon, a piece of sausage, and took a seat next to dad at the table. My brothers each fixed themselves a plate of food, a cup of coffee and took a seat at the table as well.

I noticed Noah was staring at me, Can I help you with something?

Taking a bite of his biscuit, he looked at me confused, Why the hell are you all dressed up? Where are you going?

If you must know, I am going to Montreal to meet my friends.

    You taking Damian?

I rolled my eyes, Yes. I’m taking Damian.

He shook his head in approval of my answer, Good. Just making sure.

    Why does it matter anyway?

Because it does. If you don't like it, we could always go with you.

Oh, God no, I said in disgust.

    That's what I thought.

As we had finished eating our breakfast, Jax came into the kitchen and walked over to dad.

Mitch, the plane is fueled and ready to go whenever you are.

Thank you Jax, tell the pilot I'll be ready in about an hour. Dad got up from the table, looked at me and my brothers, I will see you all tonight. Sweetheart, have a great day. He said, kissing me on top of my head.

I will dad. Have a good day!

As dad and Jax walked out of the kitchen, Damian walked into the kitchen. He had on a long sleeve grey shirt, a pair of dark jeans, and his brown boots. He walked over to the table and took a seat next to me. I felt my face become hot and my pulse increased as I tried hard not to look at him, especially since the dream was still fresh in my mind.

He looked at Noah and Oliver, Morning.

    What's up dude?

I want to go down to the range tonight. I got a new revolver and want to test it out. He said to Noah and Oliver.

Oliver dusted the biscuit crumbs off his hands, Fuck yeah man. Let's do it.

He turned and looked at me, clearing his throat to get my attention, What are we taking today?

Let's take my truck. It has more room for shopping.

Damian smiled with his crooked little grin, I'll bring it around front.

There it is. That crooked little grin that gets me every time and I couldn’t help but blush.

He held my gaze, and I became lost in his eyes. He has the most beautiful blue eyes; like the sun shining off the ocean kind of blue. His eyes roamed down over my body before meeting mine once again. I was frozen, helpless to move.

I faintly heard Noah clear his throat, but I was lost; I couldn’t take my eyes off Damian’s. Noah cleared his throat a little louder and finally pulled me from my trance, Oh hell no! he said loudly.

Completely embarrassed, I turned my head away from Damian and put my hand over my face. Damian chuckled, got up from the table and walked out the kitchen.

What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you embarrass me like that?

Me? Are you asking what's wrong with me? You're over here making googly eyes at my boy.

I narrowed my eyes at him, Oh my God! You are such an ass. I cannot believe you.

Noah looked at me, took a deep breath, and sighed, It’s really cute when you try to act mad. You're like an inch fucking tall and your mad face is adorable.

Unfortunately, my brothers liked to poke fun at me when I was mad.  They were all bigger than me and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t pull off a convincing mad face around them, Are you seriously making fun of my mad face? What the fuck is wrong with you?

Noah and Oliver busted out laughing and started imitating my mad face. I tried to hold a straight face but the more I tried the more they laughed.

I picked up the uneaten biscuit off my plate and threw part of it at Noah and the other half at Oliver.

Well thank you. I wanted another biscuit anyway. Oliver laughed.

I huffed and rolled my eyes, I’m so over this conversation. I’m leaving.

    Chapter 2

    Ophelia

Iwalked through the foyer and out the front door as Damian was parking my Mercedes G550. I loved my truck; dad bought it as an early birthday gift a few weeks ago. I could not get enough of it, even though I seldomly drive it. I hopped in the front seat on the passenger side and off we went to Montreal.

So where are we going first?

First, we're going to meet Sam, Chase, and Tyler at the mall. There are several stores we want to go to. Afterwards, I figured we could go to Prime Steakhouse for dinner then come home.

    Sounds easy enough.

I pulled out my phone and checked my social media. Every so often, I would glance from the corner of my eye and see Damian looking at me. I bit down on my bottom lip, trying not to blush.

Are you excited for your party Saturday?

Yes, I can't wait. Sam keeps teasing me though. She told me that we're going on a girl’s trip next week, but she won't tell me where she's taking me.

Yeah, she mentioned something to me about it.

Wait, so you know where we're going?

His eyes widened as if he forgot that it was supposed to be a secret, he chuckled, I do, but I have been sworn to secrecy.

Uh, no. Not how that works, you have to tell me.

He raised an eyebrow, and a smirk came across his face. Oh really? Is that an order?

Well, it’s not an order, but pretty please.

    No.

    Please, I begged.

He looked at me and laughed, No.

I huffed and decided to try something a little more convincing. Using my cutest smile, I tilted my head back, batted my eyes and brushed my fingers across his forearm, Pretty please.

There were goose bumps forming on his skin under my fingers, and I knew I was getting to him. He glanced down at my hand and looked at me as if he were about to devour me, Don’t do that.

My cheeks became warm and I grinned, biting my bottom lip, Why not?

He took a deep breath and adjusted in his seat. I could see his other hand grip the wheel harder as I continued to tease him.

He moved his hand and brushed his finger across the back of my hand. I could feel my entire body start to tense as the spot where he touched tingled. He turned my hand palm up and placed his hand on mine and our fingers locked together. I bit my lip and blushed as he looked at me giving me an adorable, crooked grin. He picked my hand up and brought it to his mouth, placing a soft kiss on the back of my hand. Butterflies filled my stomach, and I could feel my heart beating in my throat. I thought it was going to jump out of my chest.

When we pulled up at the mall, I could see Sam, Chase, and Tyler were already here sitting at the café out front. Damian parked the truck, and as I was about to get out of the truck, he leaned over and locked my door. He grabbed me by the throat; I gasped as I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. My heartbeat quickened as he looked at me, as if he were looking into my soul. When his lips hit mine, I felt a surge of euphoria rush through my body. I’ve never felt anything like this before. His kiss was hard, as though he was trying to steal the oxygen from my lungs. He bit my bottom lip, and I opened my mouth allowing his tongue to enter. He instantly dominated the kiss, igniting a desire I’ve had for a long time. Our lips moved perfectly together, and I never wanted it to stop. A small groan escaped his lips as I tugged at his hair, pulling him closer.

He pulled back from me; our breathing was heavy as we fought for the oxygen between us. My heart was pounding so hard and my cheeks were flushed. I was both aroused and shocked by the moment. He took a deep breath and placed another kiss on my lips. He leaned over, unlocked the doors, and got out of the truck. What the fuck was that? I sat in the truck for a moment trying to slow my heart and catch my breath. He walked around to the passenger side of the truck and opened my door.

    Thank you, I whispered.

He nodded and I walked to the back of the truck to wait for him. He locked the truck and slipped the keys in his pocket, gestured for me to walk first and he followed close behind. As I got closer to the café, Sam jumped up from where she was sitting and ran over to me, pulling me in for a hug, Oh my God! I'm so excited to see you, it feels like it has been forever!

I know, but you and I need to have a talk.

She rolled her eyes at me and laughed, Oh God. What did I do?

Folding my arms, I tried to be convincingly mad, What is this I hear about you swearing my bodyguard to secrecy?

Sam shook her head, and a surprised look came across her face before she busted out in laughter, What are you talking about? I did no such thing.

I raised an eyebrow and pursed my lips, Yeah, let's act like I believe that one.

She giggled and patted me on the shoulder, You will be fine. You can thank me later when I am whisking you off next week for our girl’s trip.

Before I could say anything, else Chase and Tyler walked over, Hey honey, they said, as they each gave me a hug and kiss.

You ready to find your party dress? Tyler asked.

Yes! I can't wait. I am so glad you all are here to help me find my dress.

Sam and I locked arms and walked into the mall, with Chase, and Tyler on each side of us. Damian followed close behind.

Sam whispered in my ear, You know, I am so glad I’m not you, like I would seriously go insane.

    What do you mean?

You have him, for a bodyguard. How have you not lost your freaking mind? Seriously, the man is fine as hell. She said, biting her bottom lip.

I looked back at Damian then looked at Sam. It's not so bad, I whispered.

We spent the whole day shopping at Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Kenneth Cole, and about a dozen other stores, each of us picking up a little something from each store. We finally made our way to Bergdorf Goodman. Chase and Tyler each wanted to find an Armani suit to wear to my party, so we went over to the men's section and browsed. Chase found a burgundy tuxedo pant suit and a black dress shirt. Tyler picked out a navy-blue tuxedo pant suit and a white dress shirt. When we walked over to the women’s section, I saw the perfect dress. It was a sexy sleeveless scarlet red, lace slim fit mermaid long vintage dress with a scalloped plunging V-neckline, a thigh high slit and a deep V-back.

I picked up the dress, admiring it, Oh my God! I love this dress.

Sam couldn’t control her excitement, O that is beautiful! You have got to try it on.

Shhh. Not so loud, damn. She knew I hated to have attention drawn to me, but with as loud as she was, other people in the store were already staring.

Sam rolled her eyes at me, Sorry.

I whispered to Sam, I’m going to try this on, as I walked to the dressing room.

The dress hugged my curves in all the right places and accentuated my breasts. The lace material felt so amazing and the color was perfect for my tanned skin. It made me feel so sexy. I stepped out of the dressing room and walked over to the platform by the seating area where Sam, Chase and Tyler were waiting.

Sam’s eyes widened when she saw me, Oh my God! That dress!

    I know, it's perfect! I love it!

Tyler stepped onto the platform to examined the dress closer, and he motioned for me to spin, O, you look amazing!

When the store clerk saw me in the dress, she walked over with a pair of red criss cross transparent strap bow sandals with a thin 4.5-inch stiletto heel, I always thought these shoes would go perfect with that dress. She smiled as she handed me the heels.

I sat down and tried on the heels; they were beautiful. The criss cross ribbon formed a beautiful bow on the ankle. Standing up, I walked back in front of the mirror. Damn I looked hot.

Damian leaned back in the chair next to the platform, his eyes were glued on me. The look on his face was the same look he gave me before he kissed me in the truck. I think my face turned the same color as the dress as I watched his eyes go up and down my body. I put my head down to hide my blush. How does he do that? I swear, the way he looks at me makes me turn fifty shades of red.

After paying for the dress and the shoes, we left the store and started making our way back to the front where our vehicles were parked. Damian opened the back of the Mercedes and I put my bags in the back. Sam, Chase, and Tyler put their bags in the back of Sam's car, and walked over to me. So, what do you want to do now? Tyler asked.

Let's go grab some dinner at Prime Steakhouse. I suggested.

I love that place, Sam said excitedly.

Damian and I got into my truck while Sam, Chase and Tyler got into Sam's truck and they followed us to the restaurant.

Damian looked over at me, O that dress looked amazing on you.

My cheeks warmed and a smile spread across my face, Thank you, I said softly.

When we pulled up to the front of Prime, the valet walked over to the truck and opened my door.

    Thank you.

Damian handed the keys to the valet, placed his hand on my lower back and guided me to the front door.

Hello. Welcome to Prime Steakhouse. the hostess said.

I smiled at the hostess, Hi, table for five, under Mitch Geno.

Yes ma'am, Miss Geno right this way. She grabbed five menus and escorted us to our table.

Dad always keeps a booth on reserve for anytime he is in town or if one of us wants to grab dinner without having to wait. We walked over to the half round booth in the back corner of the restaurant. Sam slid in and sat in the middle, Chase and Tyler slid next to her. I sat on the other side of Sam and Damian sat next to me at the end. A waitress walked over and filled our glasses with water, Hello, my name is Tiffany, I will be your waitress today. What can I start you off with?

I looked up from my wine menu, Yes, I would like a bottle of your Chateau Petrus Pomerol, please.

Not a problem, would you like to order an appetizer, or do you all need more time? she asked.

Yes, could you bring us two of your chilled seafood towers please? I asked.

Certainly. I will put in your order and be right back with your bottle of wine.

As the waitress walked away, we all looked over our menus trying to decide what we wanted to eat. A few moments later the manager of the restaurant walked over with our bottle of wine and poured us each a glass.

Good afternoon Miss Geno, I am pleased you have joined us again for dinner.

Hi Tony, thank you so much. You know there is no other place I would rather go when I'm in town.

Wonderful, I'm happy to hear that. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask. It's good to see you again. Tony said, as he set the bottle on the table.

I gave Tony a nod, Thank you, will do.

As Tony walked off the waitress walked over with our chilled seafood tower and set it in the middle of the table. Can I get you anything else?

I think we are ready to order our main course. I said.

Great. What can I get you? she asked.

I ordered a filet and shrimp dinner with a side salad. Sam ordered a Chilean sea bass with a side salad. Chase and Tyler each ordered the lamp chops with grilled asparagus and Damian ordered a rib-eye with creamed potatoes. When the waitress walked off, we each pulled out our phones. Sam and I took a selfie to post online. We made a little small talk to pass the time until our meals came out. Sam once again teased me about the girl’s trip next week but wouldn't tell me where we were going. A while later, the waitress came out with our meals and set our plates down.

Everything was delicious, the filet and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Sam's sea bass was perfectly done. Chase and Tyler's lamb chops looked phenomenal, and Damian's rib-eye smelled amazing, even though it was too rare for me. It was a fantastic meal with fantastic friends. When we finished, we all sat back in the booth feeling too full to even think about dessert. I called the waitress over, asked for the check and paid for our meal.

While I waited for the receipt, I rested my head on Damian's shoulder and looked up at him with sleepy eyes, I am so ready to go home and soak in my tub.

He looked down at his watch, Yeah, it's time to get you home. he said, placing a soft kiss on my forehead.

The waitress came back over with the receipt and Damian got up out of the booth helping me up. Sam, Chase, and Tyler each got up and we walked outside to our vehicles.

Thank you for today, it was so awesome. Maybe next time we can take the jet to New York City and do some shopping. I gave each of my friends a hug.

That sounds good to me. I love shopping in New York City, Sam said delighted.

I gave Chase and Tyler a hug, we said our goodbyes, got into the truck, and drove off back to New York.

    Chapter 3

    Ophelia

When we crossed back into New York, I figured it was time to break the silence and find out what that kiss was about.

So, you want to tell me what that kiss was about now?

He looked over at me then back at the road, I don’t know. I’m sorry I did that. You’re my boss’s daughter and I’m not supposed to do that.

I turned in my seat to look at him and put my hand on his arm, You don't have to be sorry. I liked it.

I know, but your father would kill me if he knew I kissed you. Not to mention, Noah and Oliver would kill me also.

    I don’t think they would. I laughed.

He looked at me with a confused look on his face, We are talking about the same Noah and Oliver, right?

Knowing that he was accurate about the fact that my brothers were somewhat overprotective of me when it came to guys, I couldn’t help but laugh. So, we won’t tell anyone.

He didn't say anything, instead I noticed that he was looking at the mirror watching it intensely.

    Is something wrong?

    I don't know yet.

He sped the truck up and continued to watch the mirror. I looked out the back window and saw a black SUV riding awfully close to the back of my truck. I saw two more come from behind it.

    Fuck. Damian said.

He continued watching the vehicle, his facial expression turning more and more angry. He stepped on the gas pedal harder and the truck jolted forward. The SUV behind us picked up speed and was right on our tail in a matter of seconds.

Airbags instantly deployed and hit us from all sides. The back of the truck flew up in the air and we flipped over the two trucks in the middle of the road and landed upside down on the other side of the trucks. Everything went dark.

O, O, wake up, Damian said, shaking me.

When I opened my eyes pain instantly radiated over my whole body. Blood was running down my face and when I looked at Damian, he also had blood running down his face.

Panic set in as I realized that we were upside down in the truck, only thing holding us in the seats were the seatbelts, What the fuck was that?

Before he could say anything else, I saw several
