    Foreword

Jo had a love of words and language throughout her life. She could read before she went to school. She passed her ‘O’ levels a year early. In her late teens she spent two years teaching English behind the Iron Curtain, while learning Russian and Bulgarian. She gained her English Literature ‘A’ level in her early 20s, and went on to study English and Maths at college. Her grasp of language development allowed her to develop innovative and personalised learning programs for the Autistic students she was responsible for.

She wrote as a form of relaxation, sometimes in the style of other writers, sometimes as parody, sometimes with topical themes, and often as an emotional outlet. At different times in her life she wrote Education articles, novels and short story fiction for children and adults, verse, lyrics for songs and a musical evensong.

This is a collection of some of her song and verse.
