Foreword
As we celebrate our first ten years, we want to share with everyone a bit of our history. The Global Game Jam® is first and foremost a community. We are a community that is strengthened by the diversity that comes only from encouraging everyone around the world to make games. The stories are included in the original language of the author and provided without major editing. They share the tone and spirit of the author’s own experience. Instead of removing colloquialisms or accent in the writing, we decided to share the stories with their original color.
The Global Game Jam® experiment started 10 years ago and it has grown from 1,650 participants in 2009 to the more than 42,000 people who participated in 2018. This growth
