INTRODUCTION
How are you doing in your relationships? Are you fairly content and at peace most of the time or are you struggling just to get through each day? If we are totally honest with ourselves, relationships are really, really hard. Stats show that more than 50% of all marriages end in divorce and this is having a devastating effect on families and other relationships.
One of the most important things we need to accomplish in our lives is create strong, healthy relationships with our families and our friends. Relationships are what give purpose to life and keep us going. Unfortunately, when two or more people get together on a regular basis, conflict is certain to happen.
I often wondered why it was so difficult to get along with other people and if it was even possible to have a good relationship with anyone. Was it just me? Or did other people have similar problems? From doing a lot of research and looking hard into my own life, I discovered that it is possible to have a good relationship and still have conflict. It isn’t easy but it certainly is possible. In this book, I have outlined a few ideas that might help you understand why some relationships seem to be a lot better than others and how you can look at your own relationships with a positive perspective.
I’m certainly not an expert but what I have learned has helped repair my own marriage that was very rocky for the first 35 years but has been slowly getting better and stronger in the past 8 years. The wisdom I have gained has also helped me build some great relationships and given me much new hope. What I do know now is that good relationships can last for a lifetime if we are able to look at others with understanding, show love and be forgiving. Many relationships could be fixed if people would take the time and effort to make some changes in themselves and start influencing others in a positive and loving way.
My prayer is that you will take the time to read this book and process what I am trying to say. My words are not intended to be critical or go against what you believe. We are all different in how we think and act and that is okay! We just need to learn how to get along peacefully with others despite our differences and live each day with purpose. I hope this information will open your eyes as to what is happening in your important relationships and challenge your thinking. May God bless you!
