About this ebook

I began writing these poems to honor the Lord and Lady, back in October of 2005. They were a way of expressing the deep spiritual feelings that were inside of me. It had been well over 25 years since I had last written any kind of poetry and I was surprised at how easily the words were once again flowing from my fingertips. 55 of the many poems I have written to date are in this book that my husband convinced me were good enough to publish. He's not only my husband, soulmate, helpmate and best friend, but also my best critic and editor. Without his help, love and encouragement, I would never have published any of my poems.

A Short Book of Pagan Poetry - MoonRose Nightingale

    978-1-25730-083-9

    A Candle's Flame

A candle's flame is burning bright,

Lighting the darkness of the night.

The wind whispers through the trees,

Blowing ever so softly past the eaves.

Young children are settled into bed,

As the stories of old are quietly read.

And with last sleep filled little sighs,

They slowly close their beautiful eyes.

The candle's flame now is snuffed out,

And a peaceful quiet settles all about.

Off in the distance, a lone wolf does cry,

To the moon now riding high in the sky.

But all within are protected by the love,

Of our great Lord and Lady from above.

    A Golden Band

Their voices singing softly of our love,

Angel voices are heard from above.

With the blessings of the Great Divine,

We will each sip from the chalice of wine.

A candle of unity shall we light,

    It's flame burning eternal bright.

With our family and friends gathered near,

We now say our vows with voices clear.

We promise our love one to the other,

Vowing to honor always one another.

With the Divine to guide us on our way,

We vow to work together each and every day.

For love takes work, it is not free,

As you hold to me and I to thee.

Side by side from this day forward,

We are tied together in one accord.

With loving devotion upon each other's hand,

Is placed the symbol of our love, a golden band.

    Autumn

    Final harvests are now underway,

From break of dawn 'til end of day.

Goldenrods are swaying in the breeze,

As the tree changes the color of it's leaves.

    Reds, oranges, yellows and gold,

Preparing for the coming of the cold.

Soon the branches will be bare,

Now that Autumn is in the air.

The daylight hours are warm still,

Though the dark now brings a chill.

As leaves begin to blanket the ground,

The Wheel of the Year turns silently round.

    Blessings Raining Down

    The circle is cast
