    As we talked the night held my hand tightly

    so that the stars shook in my palm

    and shone through the holes between my fingers.

    And the revelation of the conversation arose

    when the stars in my hand

    shook in time with hers.

    And me and the night, we were one with the stars,

    her like velvet, and me like

    glass.

    Broken Glass

    Walking blind with my heart on my sleeve,

    I am broken glass:

    Broken inside and I feel like my

    heart doesn’t fit with my

    head anymore because the glass that connected them

    Chipped,

    and the smooth glass faces that once

    slid to fit

    No longer fit.

    My head fights my heart

    and I’m

    Broken glass,

    Broken on the inside, but also

    Sparkling, Radiant,

    bright like a thousand stars
