About this ebook

A look at a second generation german immigrant living in San Francisco, who has recently inherited his Grandmother's wealth. He has always been fascinated with a Buddhist author by the name of Fox, and during a blackout day, he solved a mystery, or thinks he did. All he wants to do is celebrate his birthday with Bell. But life keeps throwing him lemons.

But the day we see Grax Turner, is no ordinary day, aside from all the happen-chance. It seems that as he learns more of the day he can't remember, things are looking up. But then it all goes sour, and his mood dives once again.

There is no magic in the world! exclaimed the conservative on the television.

Grax really did not care, he was only waiting for his coffee to finish brewing, so he could wake up with a brighter mood about the day. The drip of the water through the beans made a patter that was drowned out by the annoying broadcast coming from a terrible channel.

The upstairs neighbors were blasting some terrible music at an extreme volume, that hid away the cries of a child enduring a torturous barrage of abuse. There was no way to get them to stop the music that fought with Grax’s peace, because they were most likely getting their fix of heroin for the day, and the landlord was a slumlord to say the least. Grax’s only solution was to watch terrible programming at a volume which threatened the stability of the television’s speakers.

He picked up the remote and switched to a market channel, because he wanted to know how his stocks were doing. He had always wanted to invest, and with the passing of his Omi, it was possible.

The market opened two hundred points down today, as trades lost bets, a suited man said without any emotion.

Grax figured his mood was equally down to begin with, and now it was provoking to go even further down.

He stepped away from the annoyance of reality and headed for the kitchen. A quick grab and pour of the coffee made him think things would improve for the day. However, he spilled some on the floor. Now he would have to clean it up, but he pushed the anxiety to the side. Convincing himself that all he really needed was some coffee.

He sat himself back in front of the television and sipped his coffee. Nearly as instant as he had sat down to enjoy his morning brew, a drop of water hit his forehead. He looked up and noticed a leak
