My true love and best friend
You have played a huge role in the creation of the men in my stories.
This is one little way of telling you I love you!

Prologue
Alyssa, meet me at our cave at three o’clock. I need to talk to you as soon as possible. Merry Christmas.
~You know who
Alyssa read the note again. Could it be possible?
Alyssa asked herself as her heartbeat quickened. The note had been stuck underneath the windshield wiper of her silver Elantra when she had come outside moments ago.
But, today is Christmas. My parents want me here.
Alyssa thought. "Oh well. If this is really from who I think it is, I’m going." She read the note again. No actual signature, but definitely the right hand writing.
Mom, I’ll be back. I want to go visit someone and wish them a Merry Christmas.
Alyssa said from the front door.
All right dear. Dinner is at six. Be back home by then.
Allison said.
Okay, see you later.
Alyssa said closing the door.
Fifteen minutes later, Alyssa was at the cave. It was only two fifty-five so she slipped inside for extra warmth. She was looking at the icicles that had formed in the cave when something grabbed her arm.
Before Alyssa had the chance to scream or say a single word, a gentle pair of lips met hers. The kiss was brief and when Alyssa was let go she stepped back.
It’s really you…
Alyssa whispered. There, standing in front of her, was Jacob Matthew Bryan.
Merry Christmas, Alyssa.
Jake said.
Merry Christmas to you too, Jake.
Alyssa answered. There was an awkward silence between them and Alyssa knew why.
She and Jake hadn’t spoken to each other very much in a little over six years. They had dated for three years and nine months before that. They had a misunderstanding one night after homecoming their sophomore year of college and hadn’t really spoken since.
Alyssa…
Jake said finally. His voice shook and was nothing more than a whisper.
Jake?
Alyssa inched closer and placed her hands on his broad shoulders. When he didn’t continue, she pulled him close and kissed him again, longer this time.
When she pulled back he spoke again. Alyssa, come with me please?
Okay Jake. Where are you taking me?
Where I actually wanted to go. I told you to meet me here to see if you would actually come.
I see. Let’s go.
Jake led Alyssa down a path and into a greenhouse. There were flowers on shelves and on the ground.
Alyssa…
Jake said turning to face her after looking at the flowers for a little bit. Want to go ice skating?
Sure Jake.
Alyssa smiled. As they left the greenhouse Jake took hold of her hand and stuck both of them into his coat pocket.
They skated hand in hand around the larger lake for a while before Jake led Alyssa down a small stream and onto a small lake hidden in a forest of trees. Alone on the lake with Jake, Alyssa was hopeful about what would happen between them. She was looking at the snow covered trees when she saw Jake fall. Are you okay Jake?
Alyssa asked.
Yeah, I’m fine.
Jake said. Are you?
I’m just perfect.
Alyssa laughed and reached down to help him up. But instead he took hold of both her hands.
Good because I have something for you.
What?
Alyssa couldn’t imagine what he could possibly have for her. She watched as Jake reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small object. Jake played with it in his hands for a minute then he looked up at her again. Jake?
Alyssa, I’ve loved you since we first met and I missed you so much the last six years. I don’t know why I let you go that night so long ago but I truly regret it. So, today I finally got the guts to ask you out again.
Alyssa smiled. Oh Jake…
She whispered.
But today I also want to ask you to stay with me forever. To love me forever and let me love you the way I’ve always wanted. Please Alyssa, this summer marry me and let us start our life together as a married couple.
Jake pulled a ring from a fold in his dress pants.
Alyssa gasped. It was a sapphire diamond ring with a white gold band, the same one she’d given back to him when they broke up six years ago.
I know it’s not a new ring but this ring belongs to you. It always has, even after you gave it back to me the night we broke up. I knew I couldn’t give any other girl a ring.
A tear slid down Alyssa’s cheek as Jake slid the ring onto her finger. She’d only dreamed this moment would be possible for the two of them.
Please Alyssa…
Yes Jake. I will.
Alyssa cried helping Jake up off the ice and pulling him towards her. I will. I will. I will!
Pulling her close Jake kissed her and he too, let six years of sadness free. Their kiss lasted for what seemed like forever. Both of them were crying but neither of them cared. When he pulled back, Alyssa smiled. I love you, Jake. Want to come have dinner with my family and me tonight?
As long as my parents can come too.
Jake teased. I could think of no one better to spend today with than you.
Of course they can. I can’t think of anyone ether. Merry Christmas Jake.
I love you Alyssa. This is the best Christmas ever!
Jake said. He kissed her once more before they headed back to their cars.

Alyssa was going to look for her dress that afternoon with her mother, Allison, and best friend, Gina. The three walked into the dress shop and Gina immediately picked out a dress.
Slow down, Gina. We need to look around before we jump to any conclusions on which dress is just right for me to wear on July 2nd. Remember I want it to be strapless and have a lot of beads embroidered on it.
Alyssa said.
Ok let's look! Oh Alyssa I'm so happy for you. You and Jake are such a cute couple!
Gina exclaimed.
Thank you Gina. Let's look for that dress.
ALYSSA! I found it! I found the perfect dress for you!
Gina yelled excitedly after three hours of looking. She ran over to Alyssa and showed her the dress.
It was strapless and had beaded roses embroidered on to it. The
