About this ebook

The purpose of this book is to bring a better understandingn of how marriages that claim to be in Jesus, have to be more clear about their purpose for marriage in Jesus. If we are to be married according to the way that God has purposed it, we have to make sure that we are abiding in the very life of Jesus Christ as our source of life and love and purpose.

I need this and I am sure you do to

Literally, I wrote this book as I was thinking about the idea of abiding in Jesus for myself. Then, I thought, why would this not apply to my spouse. Then I further thought, if me and my spouse must abide in Jesus and the two of us are one, then why shouldn’t the marriage itself abide in Jesus. Yes, it seems as though there should have been an obvious response, but it wasn’t. I started thinking about the state of marriages, particularly those that are claiming to be in Jesus and did not like what I was observing.

We are supposed to have the truth, but we seem to be more lost than others when it comes to this very subject. How can we be able to convince the world that Jesus is Lord, if we abandon it in certain parts of our lives and relationships? This is a contradiction and I wanted to simply point it out. Jesus commands us to abide in him and he does not make that an option. If I have no way of squeezing out of abiding, nor does my spouse, then we must abide in Jesus together.

I also thought a lot about what I have learned over the years from other great leaders such as Francis Chan on the matter of marriage, Voddie Bacham on the issue of love, and so many others. I have come to a very clear decision to stay consistent in following what the bible literally says about love and marriage. It says that love and marriage is between one man and one woman and that there is no escape route that is needed when we both abide in Jesus as we should.

We must walk this walk of marriage together with other believers in Christ

This book is intended to do two things:

Point out some obvious things that we ought to know as Christians.

Point out some advantages that are gleaned from allowing the marriage to abide in Jesus as it should.

    Chapter 1. You must believe

If a man or woman perceives that they can love one another outside of Christ with a godly love, they are foolish. There is no Christly love outside of Christ. There is no way to produce the fruit of the spirit without the Lord of the Spirit of that fruit.

    You must be born again

In the discourse that Jesus had with Nicodemus, there is a very clear picture of what it means to have believed in Christ to the point that you have been given new life. Let me be clear, Ephesians 2:8-10 clearly states that "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no
