About this ebook

Hi there, I'm Pearl Howie (aka Pearl Escapes) and this is my guide to the Orlando Convention Center aka the OCCC, that's the Orange County Convention Center.

Why not the whole of Orlando? Well I arrived, went straight to my hotel and the Convention Center, spent the next six nights bouncing like a pin ball around the complex and then picked up a car and high tailed it out of there, so have absolutely no knowledge of the surrounding area. If you are planning to do anything other than Zumba Convention (or any other convention at the Orlando Convention Center) I seriously recommend you buy another guide.

I used to get extremely burned out in my old job and couldn't even handle finding and booking a hotel and flight or finding what to do when I did take time off. So, I thought "wouldn't it be awesome if someone would write a guide that just gave you one perfect escape; the perfect hotel, spa, flight and restaurant."

So that's what I did.

    Introduction

I want to make these guides easy to follow, and it’s finally occurred to me after six years that what I do with them is similar to Zumba; three to five basic moves in each song that you can pick up easily and suddenly you're dancing, whether it's cumbia, salsa or flamenco.  Suddenly you're feeling yourself again, you're feeling alive.  And that's my definition of an escape – anything that makes you feel alive.  So it's just the basics, just a hotel, restaurant, spa, sight, travel tip – that's enough for you to follow and then you add your own flair or flava to it all.

If you're looking for more ways to feel alive and are not quite sure where to start then you can also check out my two BIG guidebooks:

The Guide to Spa Breaks and Escapes from Pearl Escapes 2016, which has the broad information about all of my escapes, and

The Guide to Massage, Spa Treatments and Healing from Pearl Escapes 2016 which is the most accurate resource in the world to my knowledge.  It's based entirely on my personal experience, travelling around the world for the last six years researching all kinds of fantastic spas, massage and healing.

This year (2016) I experienced such a profound healing in a native American spa that I had to come home and write a self-help book free Feeling Real Emotions Everyday - a full colour photographic book which is out now.  I'll soon be touring; talking about the book as well as researching more incredible experiences around the world.

(For more regions and escapes included in my full guide, most of which will be available as separate ebooks, please look through the list at the end of this book.)

I have been so blessed to visit so many incredible places around the world and experience healing masters at work and I'd very much like to share that wisdom with you.

    Orlando Convention Escape

The thing I loved most about Orlando (although I don't know if it is a very local thing) is the expression I got ya.  Every time I stressed that the waitress would forget my second plate of breakfast or that I had my pass on the table when I popped out to the loo during ProSkills this was the response.  I got ya.  (You have to say it in a Southern American accent.)  So reassuring and so kind – how I hope the rest of Orlando is when I finally visit it.
