About this ebook

This leadership training Boot Camp involves a careful examination of the principles of church leadership. These characteristics should be found in all churches, but unfortunately, many of our church leaders lack true leadership skills. The lack of true leadership prevents the church from moving forward. The Kingdom of God needs “moving forward” churches now during this day and age like it’s never needed them before! People in every community are looking for something real and genuine. They want a real church with real people who really care! This leadership Boot camp is designed to help your church leaders to understand the importance of true leadership and discover ways to make your church even more effective. I pray that this training will help you and your church to move forward in becoming a true and viable force in your community.

    I

t is only through the undeniable grace of God that I am able to complete this book on LEADERSHIP BOOT CAMP.  I also wish to thank My mentor and Pastor Helen Godfrey-Smith and the GPCC Family which provided me with the platform to put this vision in motion by equipping the leaders of that great ministry. I would be remiss if I did not thank my lovely wife and ministry partner Evangelist Felicia Starkes who stood beside me in ministry so many years, I thank God for you.

    INTRODUCTION

You are probably wondering why I choose the theme of Book Camp to do a book on leadership training. Well, the answer is not because I have a military background and also happen to be a combat veteran. Actually, it all started with a scripture.

Join me in suffering like a good soldier of the Messiah Jesus. 4 No one serving in the military gets mixed up in civilian matters, for his aim is to please his commanding officer. 2 Timothy 2: 3-5

And there it was, the perfect words of empowerment to encourage and minister to someone who was once full of zeal and ready to take on the enemy in full force, but now spiritually and emotionally wounded  and had become discouraged and weary along their journey in ministry.  It happens to all of us at some point. We start out strong and ready to save the world and after a while we start getting discouraged because it seems like the ones we are trying to help doesn’t want the help. In some cases its not the people, its ourselves, we may have so much going on in our personal lives that it becomes unbearable to try to minister to someone when we ourselves need to be ministered to. The strongest man or woman of God can be broken down when it comes to trying to be available for god’s people while at the same time having to bury a loved one, or your home going under foreclosure, or your marriage being on life support and threatening to end. So where do we as spiritual leaders get our empowerment from? The words of 2 Timothy 2: 3-5. It lets us know that we are not alone in our suffering. We all at some point grow weary and become discouraged. We all have personal affairs that distract us and take some of our attention. But we are soldiers appointed by our heavenly Father and he has commissioned us to an assignment regardless of what we have going on or problems we may personally be facing. The ministry has no time clock and the warfare of the enemy never has a cease fire.

We have to stay ever ready for
