In My Time

Born in a time of peace and tranquility

now the world I see in a different light

rape and murder, of our fellow mankind

is on a constant rise.

Our Children are at loss

as to what the future holds

with each passing day

the light of hope is diminishing

and fear has taken its place

love has gone through the door

The hearts of men have become vile

and I ask myself, what's wrong, with mankind?

Where Does the Future Lies

The future lies within our hands

but yet we never seem to understand

we move about without grasping the facts of life

eating, drinking, partying, exploiting and polluting

not caring, while the earth we live on

is cracking.

We are so busy wrecking

instead of maintaining

so busy polluting

instead of cleaning

Cutting the trees

that cleans, the very air we breath

leaving the land bare

not thinking of what's going to happen to us here

The next generation is in serious trouble

but not many people seem  to care.

She met him on the street

she gave him, for all it was worth

her heart, and so much more.

A commitment she wanted

but for him, that would be a strain

She made his house beautiful

to welcome him home after work each day

On the streets he flirted and played

not caring about
