Was it Worth it?
From the beginning of time, nearly all of humanity wanted and prayed for something that they believed was more precious and lasting than even the riches coveted by the very wealthy: Peace on Earth and goodwill towards all. It was a reasonable enough wish – and had been since all human beings started to move away from the savage traits of their Stone Age ancestors, and used their intelligence and other God-given talents and skills to advance humanity for the greater good.
But there were those dedicated to what the best of mankind was totally against – including causing violence and terror, if only to hold on to absolute power, a concept that generations had long believed would become extinct someday, like the prehistoric creatures that roamed the Earth centuries before even the birth of Christianity.
But they were wrong. Tyranny, no matter what forms it takes, had long been persistent, playing a major role in many of history’s most violent and bloody conflicts. And to believe that it would actually peter out on its own someday was nothing more than wishful thinking.

For centuries, those who truly believed in humanity’s potential for good had fought – and, in many cases, defeated those long opposed to not only God’s laws, but also those of mankind.
When the violent wars were over, and the best of humanity was triumphant – a single question popped up in the minds of many: Was it worth it?
