About this ebook
It is readily acknowledged that naturists are a very small minority of the people on this earth. For this reason, many may regard them as almost abnormal or weird. Their numbers are constantly expanding and in a free society we have every reason to believe that we will always have them with us. As such enquiring minds may wish to know where they stand with naturists. To complicate matters there is a wide range of takes on what naturism really is which must first be answered.
The most commonly held view is that “Naturism is a way of life in harmony with nature characterised by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment.” This is the ethos subscribed to by the International Naturist Federation and which the overwhelming majority of naturists pursue. This also forms the basis of the codes of conduct prescribed to by naturist establishments such as clubs, accommodation facilities and resorts. By implication people who use naturism as an excuse to pursue a sexual agenda are not recognised as naturists by the broad naturist establishment.
Non-naturists (called textiles by the naturists community) often see naturist as some special breed of people who have no inhibitions and who would without a blink remove their clothes in front of just anybody. Not true, although there are varying degrees of modesty towards outsiders among naturist, they are generally quite inhibited as regards taking off their clothes unless they are amongst themselves. By any definition naturists are therefore quite normal people.
This book follows the life story of William Neal from being a very ordinary normal toddler developing into a rather inhibited child and still later into a very modest man and how he and the great love of his life adopted a naturist lifestyle, living a beautiful life together into old age. It is based on a true story(s); however, names and situations have been changed to preserve privacy
