Jemma punched the clothes back into her bag. All the while imagining it was Hagan's big, pesky head. He’d run off the only man in the park willing to talk to her by growling at him. Then her jacket had disappeared, leaving her to dig through her bags for extra layers. The annoying dragon had probably eaten it in his ridiculous plan to keep her locked inside. He'd taken on the mission of ruining her vacation, and she couldn't understand why he dedicated himself to destroying all her fun. Was he trying to ensure she never visited again? The joke was on him though, because as soon as she could peel Myla away from Blaise, she'd splurge on a brand new jacket and send him the bill.

Can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving. As if summoned by her thoughts, Myla swirled into the room.

Jemma bit back her ire, hoping her friend wouldn't notice. Oblivious, Myla flopped down on the fluffy down comforter. Since her mate was an Aspen Grove State Park ranger, he got this room at the Bristlecone Lodge for Jemma when there was a last-minute cancelation. She hadn't realized at the time how lucky she was to avoid sleeping on the couch in the ranger living quarters they shared with Hagan. Never in a million years would she have guessed someone as sexy and delicious smelling as Hagan could turn her stomach so quickly.

Yeah, I'm still reeling from Halloween. Pushing her bags to the floor, Jemma flopped next to her college roommate. Over the last month, she'd missed hanging out. It felt like they'd lived together forever, not just for four years, and adjusting was difficult. She hadn't thought it would matter, but being the third wheel for the holiday wasn't so appealing. At least not with Hagan dodging her every turn. It highlighted that Myla had moved on, while Jemma hadn't. Thanks for inviting Tinsley. It's hard to believe this will be our last holiday together for a while.

Thanks for suggesting it. I should have invited her before.

Tinsley, Myla's cousin, was a student at K-State with them and they'd all grown close over the last few years. A twinge of sadness ached through her. She didn't want envy to ruin their friendship, but she couldn't help feeling jealous of the whirlwind relationship that had Myla moving to Colorado. It didn't help that Blaise's coworkers didn't seem to like her
