Living Online - Mohammad B Saydah

    Introduction:

Have you ever experienced meeting a person somewhere, where he or she kept attached to his smartphone while you were speaking to him or her? Did anyone hit you while gazing at his device? Did your friend tag you a Facebook post at 4:00 AM, or invite you to a live stream? There are a bunch of questions you may ask yourself about things you noticed. For example, why my colleague became isolated, having new weird opinions, or his behaviors are unjustified? I am sorry to tell you that these people were shifted by the Internet to live online instead of living real life.

Dear reader, it was noted that these means do prevent some people from real and direct contact with people, and confine them to their room. Some researchers have indicated in this matter that integration in the virtual world may cause fear of confrontation and coexistence with the real community, as well as the constant preoccupation with reading updates on communication. this means Social work may reduce the efficiency and productivity of employees and workers within agencies, and this is very dangerous.

We know that the process of social communication, due to modern technology in general, and our information technology in particular, has become one of the main means of communication that have changed the course of communication, making it easy to obtain information in an organized and rapid manner through computers and personal phones around the clock. Social networking sites like Facebook - Twitter - Whatsapp – LinkedIn, and many others, have emerged to become at the forefront of the information revolution without a competitor, as the information network has linked people to each other around the world to make the world a small village if this technology includes a huge amount of information in all Healthy walks of life - social - economic - political - business, banking, games, means of entertainment, acquaintance, marriage, and others.

The communication sites were characterized by ease of use and speed of spread. Any individual can indulge for very long periods and navigate his pages easily without feeling how much time has passed, and this indicates the widespread use of social networking sites and their consideration of a distinct feature of this age, as communication methods are used by children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, i.e. all age groups of members of society. And also all layers of society with limited income and people with high incomes, so social networking sites have invaded all areas of social life as a means of communication and exchange of ideas and information as well as political, economic, and educational fields.

Despite the great benefit that social networking sites may achieve in all areas of life, but it is at the same time It may pose a danger to its users as there is an ongoing debate about the extent to which social networking sites contribute to the decline in family and social relations, and many researchers have indicated that spending most of his time in front of computer screens and phones would change the form of human relationships that bind individuals between them, Many people associate with the screen, whether it is a mobile phone or a computer, for a long time, because it provides him with entertainment, shopping, excitement, and exchange messages watching movies, playing, reading books, learning, and what is left of the individual's time is almost limited to sleeping and eating, which may also be limited to fast food while the eyes are fixed on the screens.

The uses of social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, which allow communication with friends and colleagues and strengthen ties, are witnessing an increasing demand and a great demand from the various segments of society for what they achieve from social interaction that refers to the cognitive, emotional, emotional, and behavioral processes that take place between the connected parties so that these parties exchange many messages as Between them in a specific social situation in time and place, and the behavior of each party is a warning to the behavior of the other party. Instant conversations between them and global statistics show an increasing demand for using social networks in all parts of the world.

Excessive use of social media has multiple psychological and social repercussions, including increased anxiety, depression, a desire for isolation, and the inability to communicate realistically with others. The study authors, through observations and follow-up of programs on the media, noted that this phenomenon is increasing its prevalence day after day, as well as its negative effects. Especially on the youth group, who are the most users of it for matters related to whether they are studying, work, or spending free time. It is also noticeable that the young man who uses social networks a lot is affected by his social communication skills and a sense of loneliness, which are among the most important that the individual possesses of various skills as it enables him to interact With others in a positive and effective way that enables him to reconcile and achieve social adaptation, the research team found that the number of Arab studies that dealt with this phenomenon is considered insufficient, which called for conducting this study to shed light on this phenomenon in our society and verify the motives of using social networks and its impact on social communication skills and loneliness feelings .

Many things are found in my book. Strongly, I recommed to read it.

The Problem of Social Isolation in the Time of Social Communication:

The matter is not history, not long ago we knew very little about these recent discoveries, which have changed the direction of social life since its appearance. The contemporary life that the present generations lead opens the door to questions about how people spent their free time before the dawn of social media, social networks, and the era of Speed and digital media.

People around the world are satisfied with the superficial information provided by social media, and of course, the view of the academic, researcher and even the journalist differs from the view of ordinary people about what social media offers of great benefits, and what can result from its multiple uses of damages to the norms and morals of societies, especially our societies Those dealing with these methods may be unaware of their dangers.

So, we are living in the modern digital communications revolution, thanks to which life and the world around us have become an electronic home, we roam freely in its rooms that challenge our ability to live on the back of the planet in a different way that was never available to the generation of our fathers, that revolution is a shared legacy for all humanity, but this does not negate this. It is a cultural achievement produced by creative and ingenious minds.

Social media and social media have benefits that cannot be dispensed with in any case and have damages that cannot be overlooked, as they allow the exchange of life experiences in various areas of life, gaining important knowledge and information from various sources that achieve the purposes of rapid and inexpensive social communication with friends and relatives close They are far away from us for different circumstances, whether for work, study, or other reasons, in addition to gaining creative experiences in various cultural fields, and providing appropriate knowledge and awareness of what is going on around humans in terms of events and developments in the virtual and real-world, so it is a good opportunity to acquire multiple skills in life and in different fields.

Of course, not everything that results from interacting with Social Media is pure evil, but there are negative aspects to its uses in reality, as it provides unlimited space to identify everything that could lead to moral corruption and destruction in the behavior of young people with the content, it broadcasts, and there is another aspect which is isolation The feeling of real society and integration with the virtual community represented by friendship groups in chat rooms on the Internet in front of all the various values and cultures acceptable and unacceptable
