Outer Quest - Jon Potts II

    9781662902284

    Savage Nut

    Predict a front.

    Steady turn.

    Hand held.

    Next day gone.

    Pause too.

    Realize lost a minute.

    Slept while listing.

    Didn’t mean hurt.

    Life storming by.

    Action bigger.

    Than words.

    Care you give now.

    Should be.

    The care.

    You thrive too always give.

    Paw Hike

    Expect the unexpected.

    Things seem normal.

    Close gets farther.

    Stitched walls.

    Sell a piece of.

    Your mind.

    That you think.

    You have left.

    Sane left packing.

    Ram page brawl.

    Lurking over.

    Each shoulder.

    Tricking dishonesty.

    Wave change.

    New growth.

    Has been planted.

    Portable Weber

    Break dawns rest.

    Conceive the crib.

    Spirit enterprise.

    Solo handcuffed.

    Portrait drew full.

    Been sitting.

    In the wheelchair.

    Deep blind.

    While picking apples.

    Electrical surge power.

    Glass book.

    Delicate and misleading.

    Crazy hope. Break through.

    The Yellow Vase

    Whistle in dixie.

    With nothing to lose.

Letting it all hang out with no thought.

    The pain of today.

    Has lasted for 30 years.

    With or without.

    Live in is still something.

    The benefit has got sour.

The control of what is happening.

    Is out of your grasp.

    Neither of us want back.

    I’m giving up the fight.

    The Catch

    Won the lottery.

    Give half away for taxes.

    Pay me good money.

Have to put up with bullshit.

    Want a new car.

No credit at all or bad credit.

The better looking with a smoking body.

The more attitude you got to deal with.

    Broken Jaw

Can’t see living in the dark room.

    Short comings unbending.

    Take it on.

    Petty with what you want.

    Do or not too do.

You’ve been trying to make a mark.

    Every place you’ve been.

    Run or hide.

    It’s all coming out.

    Alone you.

    Will find a way.

    Meet

    I walk into town.

All I see is tall buildings and top hats.

    Start walking the streets.

Looking for change for something to eat.

Find my bed to be inside a garbage can for the night.

    Walking the streets again.

Come across a cat playing his guitar.

He’s got a hat sitting next to him.

I put some change in the hat.

    I grab my harmonica.

    I start playing with him.

    A year later.

We are playing big shows and living like kings.

    The sky is on fire.

The birds’ wings turn to velvet.

    The ground rumbles and shakes.

The wind gusts faster and faster.

Trees getting ripped out of the ground by their roots.

    Mountains crumbling apart.

    Rain and thunder.

    Coming down harder and harder.

    By the minute.

The clouds fall to the ground.

    The ground cracks wide open.

There are people dying all around me.

    This is the end.

    No Doors Open

    Going bald, gray hair.

    Teeth hurt.

    Kids getting older.

    After 44 years.

    Seems just like yesterday.

I was running the roads with no care.

Night life has turned into the home life.

    Going by faster and faster.

    The timetable keep on ticking.

    Awaking to a new belief.

We all come in as we must go out.

    You have the key.

    The visit will be soon.

    Playing In The Mud

    4:00 a.m.

    or is it 2:00 a.m.

    Blocked up bookends.

    Train falling
