Diary of the Plug's Daughter 3 - Sol
Chapter One
Speechless, Promise stood there with a blank expression on her face. She didn’t know how to react to the news. It was hard for her to grasp the fact that her sister had been sleeping with her man. That was impossible.
Let me get this straight…,
Promise began to say, shaking her head. Nothing that DC had said made any sense, so she directed her attention to her sister. You’re in a full blown relationship with Mendeecees? My nigga. And not only that, but you’re still fucking with him, even though you know we have a baby on the way?
I’m not fucking him anymore. Nor are we still together.
How long has this been going on behind my back?
You might wanna ask your baby daddy that question,
Remy advised. All I can tell you is that we’ve been living together almost three months.
The whole room gasped in shock. Everyone whipped their heads in DC’s direction, waiting to hear his side of the story. This was unheard of. Situations like this only occurred on The Jerry Springer Show.
Shrugging, DC played it cool. Y’all acting like a nigga knew y’all was sisters or some shit. I’m just as lost as errbody else.
Promise frowned. What the fuck does that have to do with you cheating?
Nothin’ really, but I felt like the shit needed to be addressed. I’m wrong either way, I can admit that, just understand that I honestly didn’t know y’all were related.
Wowwww,
was all she could say.
Nobody said wow like a woman who’d just found out that her man was creeping. Shocked wouldn’t even begin to describe Promise’s emotions as she glared at the side of DC’s face. Mortified maybe. She couldn’t wrap her mind around the web of deception that she’d somehow gotten caught up in. And for her to find out like this, before a room full of people, was downright humiliating.
This nigga got me in here looking like a damn fool.
Promise peered around the suite, observing the sea of stunned faces and wondered if they’d known the whole time. Just yesterday, she’d sat with these same folks over thanksgiving dinner, gushing about how good of a man DC was and now this? Talk about embarrassing.
I guess the joke is on me, huh Mendeecees?
Promise asked. You’re the man since you fucked two sisters, and I was the only one foolish enough to get pregnant by your no good ass. Was this all just one big game to you?
This ain’t that, P, I swear to God. Had I known what I was gettin’ us all into, I would’ve moved different,
DC replied, truly meaning it. Although he kept an unruffled exterior, he felt awful on the inside for what he’d done. Shit just happened so fast. I met you and shortly after we started kickin’ it, you got pregnant. At the same time, I’d already been fuckin’ around with Remy and I couldn’t really leave her alone. I wanted to, hell, I actually tried to kick shorty to the curb but then I caught feelings for her. And I didn’t find out that y’all were sister’s until you introduced us at Applebee’s, but it was too late by then.
So what you tryna say? Your in love with her?
It didn’t help that Remy’s eyes were bugged like nigga you betta tell her when DC briefly glanced at her. Yeah, basically,
he said. I love Remy and she’s the one I wanna be with. But no matter what, I’m gonna take care of my seed. Don’t worry about that.
Instead of Promise losing her shit altogether, she let out a frustrated chuckle. Oh, I’m not worried at all. You, on the other hand, should be.
Is that a threat?
No, that’s a promise. I’ll see you in court.
It was then that Remy chose to speak up. Prom–
And as for you, baby sis, you’re a clown if you stay with this dog ass nigga,
Promise said, cutting Remy off. I’m leaving and I’d suggest you do the same,
she added with finality before turning to walk away.
I’m gonna shake his ass for every dollar he got.
Heels clicking down the glossy concrete hallway, Promise was sure to keep her head up as she zipped passed the hospital staff. Her heart was broken, her feelings crushed, but she would never be caught dead breaking down in public. Pride was all she had left at the moment and DC wasn’t worth her compromising it. No man was.
After Promise slid into the elevator, she began pressing the lobby button over and over. With persistence. She needed to get out of there fast. Her breathing had become shallow. Felt like the stainless steel walls were caving in on her.
Hold up! Wait!
someone shouted, sliding their body between the elevator doors before they could close. It was Remy and she had tears in her eyes. Sis, I’m so sorry. I should’ve said something before now and a part of me wanted to, but an even bigger part of me was still in love with him. Please tell me that we can work through this together? Because I don’t think that I can get over him alone.
Promise outstretched her arms and Remy ran over to embrace her. At the end of the day, you’re still my baby sister. And there isn’t a piece of dick in this would that’ll ever change that.
I love you.
I love you too, Remy.
Am I weak for still having feelings for Mendeecees?
Promise pulled away from Remy and palmed the sides of her beautiful damp face. "No, you’re not weak. You’re just young and dumb. I’ve been there before along with every other woman in the
