THESE ARE URGENT, DESPERATE TIMES

These are urgent, desperate times in which we are living. The dozing and burning of rainforests, the accelerating human-caused 6th extinction of wildlife, the dead zones and plastic pollution in the oceans, toxic chemicals in the water and air, and millions of innocent animals tortured and slaughtered every day—it’s enough to make us all cry out in anguish. Homo Sapiens have caused all this misery and destruction. No other animal has done this. This world that was once so beautiful and bountiful is at the mercy of our relentless progress.

But this is a book about hope. And this is no time to give up. The violence and destruction that is happening now to animals, people and nature is all the evidence we need to motivate us to begin to live in a new, nonviolent, loving, and healing way. We cannot wait any longer to rise to a higher consciousness and become Homo Spiritus, the name Michael gives the new vegan creature that we can become.

Creating a Beautiful World gives us a picture of exactly that—how we can create this beautiful world and what that world will look like when enough of us work together with faith that we can do it. Human beings have brought our planetary home to the brink. Not only are wild animals facing extinction because of our reckless and thoughtless actions, but our own species is rapidly heading there as well. Without a balanced ecosystem, we cannot survive. The phytoplankton we are killing produces approximately fifty percent of Earth’s oxygen. The forests we are burning provide most of the rest. Governments, mega-corporations, and our own consumerism, in endless quests, to get more power, money, and stuff, are on a path to annihilation.

But there is a way to turn this all around, end the violence and destruction, and create the beautiful vegan paradise Michael points us to. The spirit of love that lives within all our hearts is crying out for us to live as beings who act with kindness, compassion, mercy, and absolute nonviolence toward all Earthlings and nature. By living with the highest possible consciousness, loving ourselves, all others, and truly seeing the sacredness and interconnectedness of all life, we will become creatures who will live in harmony with everyone. No longer will we destroy their homes, kill their families, commodify, eat or treat them as means to our ends, for we will share their same goals. We will live so all can thrive, be free, and live in pure joy.

Michael’s book helps us grasp what this new and loving world will look like so that we can envision it and take action to create it. This is very important, because we are currently living in a disintegrating, but still very powerful and destructive world in which the dominator worldview still blinds many people. Just like caterpillars who transform into butterflies, humans are evolving from Homo sapiens to Homo Spiritus highly conscious spiritual beings. We are just like caterpillars, changing from our old destructive ways to a life of love, forming wings and becoming wiser, more intelligent, compassionate, and loving.

At the time of writing this, I still have internal wounds within me and struggles in my life that I need to heal. So, therefore, by no means do I have all the answers, nor do I consider myself to be a guru or master of any sort. Though I feel I have decades of wisdom, understanding, and experience, which I’d like to share with you. And I believe most of us reading this, also have a lot of inner wounds to heal and aspects of our lives to improve. Perhaps that is why you started reading this book; to seek answers to today's pressing issues or your own life.

It is, therefore, a beneficial read for anyone regardless of their dietary preferences, beliefs or lifestyle. It gives people the tools needed to avoid burnout and be able to live in harmony with all life.
