When you flip a coin , it lands on the head or tail. When you fall in love, you either win or lose. The two are similar.

Heather shifted her head and rested it on the headboard of her bed. Steve was fast asleep, and she looked at him.

He looked peaceful, his arm rested across his forehead as he snored lightly.

This was nothing like she expected

The time she spent with Steve, made her happy, and although she had expected things to tone down, a bit, the passion between them burned hotter than ever.

She moved and got down from the bed, walking to the mirror on her dresser, and looked at her reflection in it.

Her life had changed over the past months too.

The time she spent at work doubled and she also had to swoop into meetings and spend hours listening to the people talk about stuff she knew nothing about.

Just like Steve advised, she needed to get someone to do that work for her, and she intended to let her mother do take over in due time.

Only if she could set down a bottle of scotch long enough to be sober

She sighed and slipped into the closet shirt she could find and headed out to her kitchen to get a drink.

After taking a long sip from the can she found, she walked to where her phone lay on the center table, and picked it up.

She had gotten multiple texts from Katherine, and they sounded urgent.

Heather, pick up. Where are you?

She dialed the number, and Kat picked up on the first ring.

Have you been busy with Steve?

Or have you been busy at work? Kat asked and Heather groaned.

I knew it, her friend said again and then laughed.
