About The Author
This book is dedicated first and foremost to my children who are the characters and inspiration for my stories. My son Spenser told me we needed to have a book about mermaids, and as Kayleigh has started speaking more, her little personality has come to life. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much I enjoyed writing it.

The Birthday Present
Kayleigh’s birthday was fast approaching and Spenser wanted to find the perfect gift, but he had no money, and she was hard to buy for as her tastes seemed to change by the hour. The only thing he was sure that she still liked was traveling with him back in time and seeing the dragons. She hadn’t stopped talking about it since they returned home.

Okay, I don’t have any mermaid books, so we’ll have to get to the library again. Let’s go ask Mom.
Kayleigh slid off her toddler bed and trundled after him.
What are you guys doing?
Jackson asked as they passed his room.
Going to see if Mom will take us to the library,
Spenser answered.
I want to go too.
Jackson dropped the truck he was playing with and followed them down the stairs.
Their mom was in the living room, tapping away on her computer. Because she worked all day as a teacher,
