About this ebook
It can be hard to quantify the subjective relational experience and the magic that happens during counseling, but IEP teams and insurance companies require objectives that are S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-limited.)
This e-book will help save you time on documentation with over 125 mental and behavioral health objectives spanning 13 different social-emotional areas. Examples are also included for each objective area, as well as a template to help you write your own unique S.M.A.R.T. objectives. These goal areas were originally written for use with children and adolescents, but the format and many of the goals can easily be adapted for use with adults as well.
Topics covered include:
Anger
Anxiety
Behavior
Depression
Emotional Regulation
Feelings identification
Listening and Following Directions
Problem solving, Conflict Resolution and Decision-Making Skills
Self-Awareness
Self-Esteem
Social skills

I consider working with children every day a privilege, as children are vital to our society's future. I'm a mother of two who works in an urban public school helping children with social, emotional and behavioral needs through the use of expressive arts therapy and mindfulness practices. I combine my unique background in expressive arts therapy, nursing and mental health counseling with my studies of herbalism to take a truly holistic, mind-body, whole-person approach when working with others.I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric care, group homes, outpatient mental health, elementary, middle and high schools. I hold registrations as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT), a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Licensed School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker.I have a longstanding interest in mind/body medicine and I'm passionate about helping people reach their highest potential through the use of the healing arts, complementary and alternative/natural therapies.
