PROLOGUE
Down! Down! Down!
one of the captains of the Allied forces screamed as his team went down at his order. The soldiers had just followed his command by crouching low to the ground when a blast from the cave flew over them and took four of the soldiers down.
Damn it,
The captain muttered as he saw four of his men go down. They were all still squatting when the Captain issued a silent command with his fingers for his men to move forward, and they did. It was like they were at war, but instead of a war against a country, it was against a single man, OrgadisMautus. The man had been like a plague to the state of Michigan for the past few months. He has been committing a lot of atrocities and crimes for months. The cops have tried all they could to catch him, but they had only failed countless times. Several failed attempts had resulted in the loss of the life of several cops. Hence, soldiers had been forced to take over from the cops to catch Mautus. Mautus has been a puzzle to the state of Michigan and the people in it as no one could explain how he has been able to take several men down at a go or how he has been able to stay hidden from being caught. Orgadis was responsible for the deaths of over a thousand people, but no one could recognize him physically, and this has also made things difficult for them to be able to catch him. It had taken months for the soldiers to track him down and another few months to get his hiding place before they had swiftly moved to action by coming to the cave in hundreds. However, they were a little over twenty left as Orgadis had killed the majority of them.
They moved closer to the cave where Orgadis was hiding and where he has been launching his attack on the Allied forces from. Another blast flew past the soldiers again just as they ducked, but no one received the hit this time around. The soldiers started firing towards the cave again just as three of the men moved very near the cave and planted a bomb just outside the cave. The soldiers immediately moved away from the cave just as gunshots were fired from inside the caves
Go to hell, bastard,
The captain muttered just before he nodded his head towards the soldier who held the control for the bomb which had been planted just outside the cave to give him the approval for him to press the button for the bomb to explode.
Boom!
the bomb exploded a minute after the soldier pressed the button on the control. A part of the cave blew to pieces, and the debris flew around from the force of the explosion right after the soldiers took cover.
There was silence, and the soldiers slowly raised their heads as they stared at the part of the cave that had fallen apart while they waited for any sign of movement, but there was none. The captain signaled for the rest of the soldiers to stay put where they were. They waited for minutes and heard nothing before the captain grinned. He was about to move forward when a blast flew past his head and hit the bushes behind him.
Everyone down!
the captain bellowed, and they all did as instructed.
Rapid blast assaulted the soldiers several by a short bald man as they all tried to scamper for safety.
That must be the bastard,
the captain muttered as he loaded his pistol from behind the rock before he shot at him, but Orgadis missed this with a swift movement. Orgadis' attention became focused in the direction where the captain was hiding.
Damn it,
the captain muttered as he missed his shot.
Orgadis started moving towards the direction of the captain, but one of the soldiers shot at him and missed, this made Orgadis shifted his attention towards the soldier and started going towards him instead.
****
Bloody bastards, they think they can just get rid of me just like that? I have worked for months just to make Michigan mine, and I won't allow these riffraff's to destroy what I've worked for. Mere humans don't deserve all of these luxuries; they are weak and feeble-minded lots. How dare these rats to shoot at me. Orgadis thought to himself as he moved towards the soldier who had just shot at him.
Stand down,
a soldier said before they threw a grenade at Orgadis, which he dodged swiftly like the past ones.
I will make each and every one of you pay
Orgadis muttered to himself as he got to the soldier who had shot him. He had just placed his hand on the shoulder of the soldier and was about to lifthim when a gunshot rang.
Orgadis' eyes widened in shock as his hands dropped from the soldier before he fell lifeless on the floor with a bullet wound on his forehead.
Cheers went up in the air as the soldiers stared at Orgadi's lifeless body before they left the area.
****
Is this what it feels like to be dead? Those bastards had caught me off guard. I guess there is nothing I can do to them anymore. Orgadis thought to himself.
Can you hear me?
Someone said while standing beside Orgadis on the bed he was laying, Orgadis eyes sprang open at this as he stared at the man standing beside him.
Welcome back,
the man said while Orgadis frowned at him.
Is that any way to thank the person that brought you back to life?
The man said as he rolled his eyes.
Brought me back to life?
Orgadis asked.
Don't you remember a single thing that happened to you?
The man asked with a frown.
Who are you?
Orgadis asked the man, suspiciously.
Supremo Delphi,
the man replied.
You said you brought me back to life, why would you do that?
Orgadis asked suspiciously.
That's beside the point, I've seen your activities these past few months, and I must say I'm impressed. Once your death was announced, I just knew I had to do something for you; hence I traced where you were,
the man said with a shrug.
Just like that, without any strings attached?
Orgadis asked.
Of course not, I need you to do something for me,
Supremo Delphi said as he smiled wickedly
What do you need me to do for you? I know that you can’t do anything for charity
The risen OrgadisMautus said
Ha-ha-ha-ha
The Supremo wickedly laughed as he said
You’re going to do something of great magnitude.
Something that will make you and I great rule the entire universe!"
Ha-ha-ha-ha!
He concluded with his wicked laughter as thunderstruck across the sky.
What do you want from me?
the risen OrgadisMautus asked again as he had begun to get angrier
Ha-ha-ha-ha,
Supremo Delphi continued to laugh as another streak of thunder lit the sky. The earth shook as more thunder continued to streak across the sky.
CHAPTER ONE
What?!
Jasmine Droshky screamed from her sleepy state after she felt a bowl of water that had landed on her while she had been sleeping.
She immediately sat upright on her bed to see Sharon, Lilian, and Charlotte laughing with two bowls on Sharon and Lilian's hands.
Enjoying your sleep?
Lilian and her other two friends asked as they all laughed while the seven-year-old Jasmine cowered and shivered in their presence. They are one of the older girls of the orphanage who constantly pick on the younger orphaned children. Lilian and Sharon are aged fifteen. Charlotte is sixteen years old
Cat got your tongue?
Sharon asked as they all burst into laughter again. Jasmine was about to reply when one of the Matrons in the orphanage walked in with a frown on her face.
What is going on here?
The Matron asked as she looked at the three girls one after the other before her gaze settled on Jasmine, who was still shivering in fear.
The guilt on the face on the three friends’ faces, as well as the drenched clothes on Jasmine, said it all before the Matron Mrs. Martin said;
Follow me now,
The Matron said pointedly at them.
Change your clothes and come along,
She continued as she turned towards Jasmine before returning her gaze to Sharon and her group and nodded for them to follow her. They followed the Matron but not before glaring at Jasmine, who was still on the bed, their face holding promises of retribution.
Did you also pour water on them yesterday, Jasmine?
The Matron asked a few minutes later after Jasmine has had a change of clothes. Sharon and her friends, the Matron and Jasmine, were all in the room.
Water?
Sharon and her friends should give answers to that. They must have lied to the Matron before I got here, and Mrs. Martin believes them.
I know there is nothing I'll say to justify myself.
If only I didn't have to grow up in an orphanage.
If only I had parents like some kids do or even adopted parents that would care for me.I don't even know my parents or even the cause of their death only thing I know is that they had both died when I was little, and I've been in the orphanage since.
This is the only place I know, but I've seen how other children live outside this place, and I would want that, but I guess that's wishful thinking on my part.
No one wants me as their child because several people have come here to adopt a child, but I've never been chosen. Sharon once said I'd grow up here because no one would want to adopt a seven-year-old girl anymore...
Jasmine's thoughtswerecut short as Mrs. Martin said;
"I asked you a question Jasmine:Did you pour a bowl of water on them
