1)„Di rider finirai pria dell’ aurora."
(Dein Lachen enden soll ehe der Tag anbricht.) mit dem Nachsatz:
„Ribaldo, audace, lascia ai morti la pace."
(Verwegner, Ruchloser, gönne Ruhe den Toten.)
Diese Drohung, von der Bildsäule des ermordeten Komturs gegen Don Giovanni geschleudert, muß mit eindringlichstem Ausdruck erklingen. Ihr folgt, im zehnten Takte, das leibhaftige Auftreten der Bildsäule selbst, die Don Giovanni, zu seinem Gelage sich einzufinden, übermütig aufgefordert hatte.– Das Bezeichnende dieses zweiten Motives ist der schwere und breite Synkopenrhythmus zweier schauerlicher Akkorde. Liszt bringt dieselben, im Verlaufe der Einleitung, drei mal und derart, daß sie jemalig die Spitze des Satzes bilden, dem sie angegliedert sind.
