About this ebook
And every time a bird is born, it doesn't really live until its wings have taken flight. Then it knows what it has been born for. It's like a bird is born twice; the first time upon its feet, and the second, upon its wings. I too had to be born again. And I pray that the gift of poetry which God has given me, that I have used to author this book, may be used to introduce you to the one who is the Author of all things. And that you may learn to look to Him, who the Bible speaks of this way: "Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Dedication
Sometimes the darkest storms
are where blessings are born.
This is a lesson my mother passed on to me
when I was younger.
What the Son of God Did
Throughout the city a story is written
just listen…
One Way, one Truth, one Life…one Love
Just look at the telephone poles above
they tell a story above the city streets…
that groan with the sound of traffic
Like a copper penny spinning on its edge…and ready to fall
…the sun falls behind the city
… On the fringe of the ocean-blue sky
as the tide of the sky turns from day to night
The silver city train divides the street lanes
…humming by like a harmonica
…in the hands of the blues player
standing on the corner
Winter weighs with cold, upon the shoulders of the city…
… And what a heavy burden, on the homeless, that is
who sleep on a cold cement mattress
Pigeons circle through the air like bicycle tires
…till they rest on the telephone wires
And wooden telephone poles tower in the air like crosses…
let them remind us of what the Son of God did
when he came to heal the brokenhearted
and then he
