FOREWARD
In 1982 I was in Maui for a summer of windsurfing. One evening while looking for something to do, my friend and I went to a revival meeting in a tent in Kihei. It was a family affair from Kansas or Arkansas. The father, the preacher, the mother singing, with the children backing up as the band created so much enthusiasm and fun that we went back the next night, even leaving a tenner in the basket.
I left thinking that I wanted to become an evangelist. I said I would become Sinner Sid. My friend Charlie laughed and said it was a dumb idea.
It did not happen but in 2017, Sid came to life in my book, Tall Tales, a collection of short stories.
I have two other novelettes with E/E and thought this would be perfect considering today’s political climate.
Enjoy.

Sinner Sid
What do we know about this Sydney Moffit?
Sydney Moffit was despised in some circles. He was viewed as the devil on earth. A live walking abomination in more than biblical terms. In general, it could be said that he was unpopular.
Sydney Moffit was a man loved by tens of thousands. He preached and said what everyone was thinking but too afraid to say. He was a modern-day prophet listened to by millions on radio, watched on television and followed on social media.
Sydney Moffit was six feet tall. In 2012, at almost forty-five years old, he had a full head of blond hair and weighed about 185 pounds. He was fit from working out daily if he felt like it. Most considered him to be an attractive man. At least, his wives had found him eye-catching, even if only for a short while. Sydney was able to smile but seldom did. He grinned or laughed. He saved smiles for special occasions.
His unassuming house in Brentwood, an upmarket area of Los Angeles, had four bedrooms, three baths with ensuites, a very large kitchen/dining area, an over-sized study, media room, and no living room.
Who the hell sits in a living room anymore? Fucked if I need one,
was his answer to the builder who did the remodel.
Other modest enhancements included a lap pool and a putting and chipping green in the back yard. A necessary addition was the four-car garage, which could fit five vehicles but some of the space was used for the storage of various
