Always hungry, the bonnacon constantly hunts for food. His hunting takes him to a crowded chicken coop, which Old Man Smith must defend with lethal force. It takes him to a fescue pasture where, ironically, the bonnacon becomes the hunted. The bonnacon finds himself in Calgary where he must perform in the rodeo with his stablemates Tank and Angus. It doesn’t go well and, having useless inward-curving horns, the bonnacon must defend himself the only way he knows . . .

PREFACE

Strolling through the Getty Museum in Los Angeles with my wife and eldest son, we came upon the bestiary exhibit depicting medieval beasts, both real and fantastical. Not being a Dungeons and Dragons kind of guy, I was going to speed walk through the exhibit. However, a picture on the wall caught my eye, and I stopped to read about it. It was a picture of a bonnacon, and the description of its unique defense mechanism appealed to the man-child in me.
