The beginning process of learning any language is to start with the alphabet - one should practice and be in a position to learn all the vowels and consonants of the language - so that the first step in reading becomes easy.
In fact, if learning the alphabets is well done - the uphill road becomes visible and becomes more of fun.
This book is designed so that learning accompanies practicing writing of the letters of Tamil language. The book is designed for children - but guidance from adults /teachers would make the learning process faster.
My Mother tongue is Thamiz(Tamil) - but, my children can only speak and understand the language - For different necessary reasons, they had chosen to study in the English medium - and missed the opportunity of learning the native language.
This book is for those parents/learners and others willing to learn the language - by learning to write read and speak.
This volume focuses on the Tamil alphabets - making them practice writing the letters knowing and understanding phonetics.
This book recommends accessing a few URLs that would help the learners to understand correct pronunciation of a few alphabets unique to the language.
The author welcomes feedback comments to improve the book further.

Tamil is pronounced as ‘Thamiz’by native speakers. there are 12 vowels and 18 consonants
Let us start with the 12 vowels in Tamil please remember that each alphabet has a short and a long vowel.
Vowels are voiced sounds made with the mouth open’. Consonants are sounds blocked by the tongue, teeth, or lips.
