Information on poison and Belladonna, (Atropa belladonna), (Deadly Night Shade) was found on various searches online but detailed information was found on the Encyclopedia Britannic online.

Other serial killer research included reading Deadly Poisons Used by Murders, Serial killers and Despots on the MURDER MILE true-crime podcast website.

Thanks to my loving mother for listening to me moan about the hunt for the perfect poison to commit the perfect crime in Murder Beneath the Bubbles. Your listening to me complain about there being too many ways to murder humans and how most of it has been around since the B.C.E. stages and perfected to use for so many other things from murder to legalized chemical medications was fun to talk to you about even though I’m sure you zoned me out along the way.

Thanks to my readers of my suspense romance and science fiction romance along with the science fiction world building. For those of you who have read my mystery off line thank you. To those of you buying the mysteries I publish online thank you too. I hope these mysteries can help you escape into a new world and learn a little bit of fact missed in with a whole lot of fiction.

    Chapter One

Soft bursts of winds mixing the island fruits growing on the trees with the bushes of fruit sticking wildly up out of the ground was a mix of calming and disastrous. The sweet scents were wonderful until trying to clean up yards with berries growing all over the ground. One could be lucky if they lived in the city because the city took care of the maintenance, but one could be lucky living out near the peaceful country areas because there they could plant, grow, pick and eat. They could also sell fruits of any kind. The profit could be amazing during harvest season especially for the ones that hit during the festival times. New people on the island to play on the sand or returning to the island for a vacation with the family loved picking their own baskets. Lacey Hollister had the best idea of charging per basket and allowing the visitors to pick their own fruits. Five dollars a full basket wasn’t so bad after all.

The island had its good parts and nobody could really honestly deny that. Despite the good in town nobody ever told Brie Forcer that life could be this complicated or that she could be so lost in crazy when Hawke Lasiter, far too sexy to be human special homicide investigator, came back to Freeport Island. Hawke came back on request for his assistance in solving a murder but she, and probably others, thought his leaving the fast lane for the island breeze would ever happen. Freeport Island was beauty in the dark skies and elegance in the red sunrise but who would leave going across the globe solving murders for coming back to a relatively dead in peace island? Nobody thought the one murder their island experienced could turn into Hawke missing the island enough to transfer and stay.

Hawke’s sharp cheekbones were strong like a Native warrior. His storm blue eyes could invoke fear with one look. His solid and strong body was like a mountain worth climbing. His looks had had always been the draw of the girls in school, but now he was a little older and a world of hotter causing a new climbing Betty disease to burst through this small island town.

Freeport was usually softly spoken by violence from humans but when the town expanded the ferry transport to the mainland of the major cities and upped the festival chain things changed and not always for the better. Having Hawke come home to help solve one scandalous crime had brought a new flare of genius to the force and nobody was going to complain about having the best come home because the best coming home brought the best to Freeport.

Brie tried to be happy about the change of Freeport. It wasn’t as if Freeport had become mainland crazy but it was a different flow that took some getting used to come the festival months. Brie had to admit it the summer festivals were a drive up for her ice cream and sweets shop she had named Brie’s Sweet Nothings Café, but a rise in business meant a rise in time cooking, cleaning.
