Book 3; Turn Out to Inward, as Time Winds by.
The third in the increasingly popular Alexander series. It will leave you wondering; who is he? What is he? Where is he from? Was that his plan from the far beginning?
1) The Ten Thousand; Kalliades and the newly formed Drakograth train the incoming Kalshodar and the 10 thousand are formed.
(2) Hero; How Gabriel and Unity met on that fateful night in London, Gabriel begins to be aware that nothing is as it seems, starting with the his very self.
(3) WetWare; Uncle Martin of Embodied presents a new discovery, of incredible significance, which can either unify the world again or destroy it. He also learns that Alexander, in fact, may not be as dead as is commonly believed.
(4) The Thirteenth Watcher; following The Fall of The World, a community of survivors finds a curious way to hold back the dark and keep them safe but is the thirteenth of their watchers mocking them all?
Alan J Fisher
Alan J Fisher was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland 41 years ago. Since he could talk he has had a love, a passion for words. he would argue with his mother over semantics from the age of 4; he would compose his first poems at around 8 years of age and have songs he wrote performed at school. A life long passion of writing for the sake of writing; "setting the words free" as he likes to call it!Alan has travelled the world, living in England, Spain and both New Mexico and Georgia in the USA. "Travel broadens and improves the mind and makes it harder for bigotry to take root there". He has always been open minded and accepting of other cultures and believes this shows in his writing. He has lifelong friends across the world. This project Alan is now releasing has been 25 years in the making! At 14 or 15 he began the early drafts in exercise books, scribbles and scrawls he typed up; first on an old mechanical typewriter his parents had, then on one of those single line screen electric typewriters which were around years ago (I think that thing is still in my parent's basement somewhere! Does anyone remember the gawd awful experience of making even ONE typo on those things??). The story has developed, grown and evolved over successive rewrites and restyles over the years and now, now finally it is ready to release into the Wild!Fascination with history, myth, and the origins of civilisation are what drive Alan the most. A deep-seated belief that all of the stories were, at least, at some point grounded in a truth. In his writing, he seeks to find the "stories behind the stories" and uncover the messages they hide; deeply hidden but intrinsically simple. The search for knowledge had been long and hard fought but it misses one very important clue, hidden in plain sight; that the answer is and always will be simple. The Chronicles of Enoch seeks not only to be an epic of truly wide-reaching proportions but a work grounded in what the author likes to call "complex simplicity". Alan's works are all, by some effect he is unable to overcome, complex and many layered but, at the end of the day, the message is simple; 'believe not all that you perceive for even your own mind may not be working exclusively for you. Challenge everything, question all, and listen with a doubtful ear.'Alan is now living in Southern Spain with his wife and children joining him there soon.

You never know where you are going to go! To the stories, which, like those shoes in the fairy tale, appeared to make themselves? Thank you my writing pixies for running my mind for me while I was asleep
For my wife, my beautiful baby daughters and everyone who believes in me. For my family near and far and my many fans and supporters, thank you one and all!
For the real Sham, you started this! I hope you’re proud!

Mirror
A simple sliver of silvered glass, its face it sits there,
Quietly considering mine, for seems like the longest time.
Watching, weighing, analysing...Uncompromising.
The face within that silvered glass so like mine
But not, not quite,
It watches me, it copies me,
It apes my ways so well,
Until not even I can tell,
Which truly am I?
My silent friend he watches me,
His confusion just like mine,
His almost smile,
But unlike mine,
He watches in reverse.
I may never see his face as he sees mine.
The Ten Thousand
I noticed why the tunnels had seemed so small to me on my return to the pool. My colleagues had grown just a little bit. We all six of us towered over Alexander and Sham and were stronger looking too, much stronger. We looked like gods! I had watched each man stride out, as I must have done, their flesh trailing flame, step into the pool and cause an explosion of steam to fill the chamber. The water roiled and bubbled each time and the man emerged from the pool remade as am I. It was like watching the forging of armour or metal; it went in glowing hot and was quenched to harden it. Five more times this forging process was repeated until we
were all assembled, dressed in identical - and larger, brought here for the purpose - white chitons and nothing else, seems our feet were too large now for sandals.
Everyone was looking around, at their colleagues, at Sham and Alexander, at their feet and hands. No-one spoke, we had no words to share, we were under the spell of the moment. Alexander broke that spell,
So how does it feel, lads?
he smiled. Different isn't it?
There were various nods and murmurs of assent.
Time for the bigger surprise, now lads!
he gestured towards the tunnels. Follow me and let’s make real soldiers out of you big buggers!
He led us down more tunnels and winding passages. It seems this mountain was not solid at all but filled with tunnels, chambers and passages, we heard noise and activity coming from some, nothing from others. My soldier’s senses often detected silent sentries lurking in shadows, the clear presence of someone trying very hard not to be seen. We continued on and on, deeper and deeper, the quality and design of the tunnels getting more and more manmade as we progressed. They also started to show some decoration, stylised dwarven faces, I guess, and complex scrolling designs, like knots and twists. The characters I had noticed on the door were to be seen here and there also.
Large square columns became a regular sight, meeting high above in graceful arches, some decorated with tree designs. Stylised dragons, more dwarves and other mythical creatures (although I knew now that dragons aren't myth so who knows about the rest of them? Are we going to meet the Manticore next?) ran up the sides of many of them. The design was one of sturdy and restrained beauty while remaining somewhat utilitarian also but clearly a place where people lived and wanted it to look pleasant.
We arrived at a strong metal door, fit neatly into the stone, plain and riveted, looking very business-like indeed. Two heavily armed and armoured dwarves with long handled axes stood guard there looking even more business-like. They looked like guards do everywhere, except for the height and beards you could lose a mouse in. Their arms and armour were very elaborately decorated with similar designs to those we had seen on the way here, very beautiful indeed to a warrior's eye, those axes were meant to be used,
