The Wakeful Dreamer
()
About this ebook
The second in the series of collected works set in Alexander's Universe, a world where the Boy King did not die in Babylon but somewhere in the Himalayas discovered immortality;
"I watched Alexander die in Babylon, I filed past his bed as he breathed is last with the rest of his army; that iconic moment really took place but then, it did not.. I remain immortal and have watched what you would consider Modern Western Civilisation come to be. I met Caesar, I met Jesus the Nazarene on the via Dolorosa before he was crucified ( I was that roman soldier), I fought in many of your wars, I smashed down the gates as we liberated concentration camps and saw unspeakable horrors. I watched your world become and also that it never was; I have lived in both both worlds. I have lived as a lost, wayward immortal without answers or purpose and i have stood beside the man who united the world - from sunrise to sunset - into one Hegemonic whole."
1) The Dragon of Macedon; learn the origins of the Kalshodar and Alexander's immortality and just who She is.
2) The Sleeper Awakens; The Origin of Gabriel and his transformation into Trinity.
3) The Wakeful Dreamer; Deep in his past, Gabriel has some troubling secrets.
Alan J Fisher
Alan J Fisher was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland 41 years ago. Since he could talk he has had a love, a passion for words. he would argue with his mother over semantics from the age of 4; he would compose his first poems at around 8 years of age and have songs he wrote performed at school. A life long passion of writing for the sake of writing; "setting the words free" as he likes to call it!Alan has travelled the world, living in England, Spain and both New Mexico and Georgia in the USA. "Travel broadens and improves the mind and makes it harder for bigotry to take root there". He has always been open minded and accepting of other cultures and believes this shows in his writing. He has lifelong friends across the world. This project Alan is now releasing has been 25 years in the making! At 14 or 15 he began the early drafts in exercise books, scribbles and scrawls he typed up; first on an old mechanical typewriter his parents had, then on one of those single line screen electric typewriters which were around years ago (I think that thing is still in my parent's basement somewhere! Does anyone remember the gawd awful experience of making even ONE typo on those things??). The story has developed, grown and evolved over successive rewrites and restyles over the years and now, now finally it is ready to release into the Wild!Fascination with history, myth, and the origins of civilisation are what drive Alan the most. A deep-seated belief that all of the stories were, at least, at some point grounded in a truth. In his writing, he seeks to find the "stories behind the stories" and uncover the messages they hide; deeply hidden but intrinsically simple. The search for knowledge had been long and hard fought but it misses one very important clue, hidden in plain sight; that the answer is and always will be simple. The Chronicles of Enoch seeks not only to be an epic of truly wide-reaching proportions but a work grounded in what the author likes to call "complex simplicity". Alan's works are all, by some effect he is unable to overcome, complex and many layered but, at the end of the day, the message is simple; 'believe not all that you perceive for even your own mind may not be working exclusively for you. Challenge everything, question all, and listen with a doubtful ear.'Alan is now living in Southern Spain with his wife and children joining him there soon.

None of these would be possible were I not so blessed with such wonderful families; both here in the Dominican Republic and back in my ‘homes’; Ireland, Belfast, England & Gibraltar. They say that when we dream, we die or our soul goes to another place and lives our dream as our body sleeps. If we die in our dream, we die forever. Others say this, everything is just a dream we need to wake from. When the sleeper awakens, what then?
To my beautiful daughters who made daddy want to try.
To my lovely wife who is always the reason why.
To my fans for making me want to torture your minds just a little bit more..

Raven'sCrew II
The flow of all things come slowly at first,
The shackles of my mind loosen...
And fall!
I feel myself lift slowly,
Oh! Oh so slowly!
I drift and feel...
The gentle balm of another world washes me,
I know now that I am free.
Free from pain, from constraint,
To do what I choose, how do I choose?
Now I have naught to lose?
The isle of dreams grows nearer,
And I pause...
Is this real?
I think
I question
I wonder...
Only briefly, a flicker 'gainst infinity.
Back and forth I flow,
Back and forth...
Past, present, future
Which is real,
What do I feel?
I no longer know...
Do I care?
Do I dare?
Question that which I cannot comprehend?
Reality disjointed,
What to believe...
Hear colour
Feel sight
Smell sound
Touch light...
Screaming my mind rejects it all!
I flow backward
Drifting
Drifting...
I realise then,
Not for the first time either,
That I shall never truly know.
Oracle
As I feel the change within me I look outward, toward thee,
Knowing not what I shall see, you do not displease me!
Ah, but then you never have, I have trusted you always,
I shall do so ‘til the end of days,
For you are the one who will not fail me,
This I can see and I have seen much.
Eyes that have seen what is yet to be,
Eyes which have seen their own destiny,
Played time and time again out before them,
I do not miss much, this I can tell thee,
So trust this ancient just once.
You carry much within thee,
And I have seen how the play ends,
You make the final scene, you do!
I can say the same for some others,
But such is life!
The gods have looked unto thee,
And now I can see why they chose you,
I know they chose well, they often do.
Trust me, I see all but know nothing,
Not for certain, who can and continue living?
I am no fool; I am old and will live,
Another some score of years with care,
Yes, I have seen this too.
Trust me now? You know it's true!
I am Oracle and I have seen!
the dragon of macedon
Waiting is never enjoyable, especially not for a soldier. Waiting while close to 5 million other soldiers were also not enjoying the wait and being responsible for cohesion, discipline and morale, well...
Add to that hangers-on, camp followers, wives, baggage haulers, merchants and innumerable children and it becomes pure nightmare! Alexander had entered the mountain 100 days ago and we had set up camp in the plain below to wait. It was very, very cold up here. The night-time plain was filled with campfires to warm the host, stretching as far as the eye could see, looking like a galaxy of stars. As above, so below that crooked Indian sage liked to say and here so, it indeed was; the thousands of fires arrayed in the darkness below so very like the flames of heaven above.
Things were getting difficult, they were getting complicated. Soldiers don't like complicated. We like simple; sword here, enemy there, stick sword in enemy while preventing enemy from sticking sword in you or your mates. Simple! Oh how that has changed! I took off my tall crested helm and ran my fingers through my hair. Things used to be simple.
