Chapter 1

Who Am I?

...WHERE AM I?

I woke up, slowly opening my eyes. The brightly lit room caused me to blink rapidly until my eyes got somewhat used to the light. The curtain was drawn to which made me unsure of the exact time. But the neatness of the room, the beeping sound and the smell of disinfectant left me with no doubt as to my location.

The hospital? I felt some pain in my head. As I lifted my hand to my head I noticed that it was covered in bandages and I also felt cloth wrapped around my forehead.

I... I'm injured? What happened to me? I can't remember... I tried to recall how I had landed in such a precarious situation. I can't remember anything at all... Who am I...?

The door opened and in came a woman was dressed in a white shirt and skirt along with a matching cap that had a red cross on it. I guess she was the nurse in charge of me.

Pardon me..., then she seemed surprised to see me awake. Oh! You're awake! I'll call the doctor right away!

Saying that she left the same way she had come, leaving me back in silence and to contemplate on how I had landed up here.
